…and it’s not even close. Especially ebony.

yep.

Fretboard is sweet...

unfortunately, Ibanez only offers this bass in matte orange shitburst finish

This color is more to my liking, and the fretboard has a slight blue-black hue, richlite IIRC, which is also my favorite fretboard material

I'm too much of a noob; I prefer having markers on the board

The little dots on the top of the neck are usually good enough for me. My classical guitar doesn’t have any so I added tape on the top of the neck lol.

So since we’re already derailed, can I see some fretless guitars please?

I actually ordered mine that way, but they put the shark fins anyway. I wasnt mad.

But an old custom i had made: (on bottom)

I had a CMG Ashlee that had no fret markers and I only had a few problems in the higher register now and then. The new scalloped Warmoth I got a month ago has no markers on an ebony board and I rarely miss a note I'm intending to hit, so that one works out better than the Ashlee I had.

Side markers are for playing, and board inlays are for decoration.
Most of my boards are blank. I have a few with cool inlays and one with regular dots.
