UPS says Dime Slime guitar was destroyed/lost/wtf’d but later found FS on GC online!

They (the shipping companies) do this all the time.

I ordered a H&K Triamp from guitar center many years ago, and it was "damaged and destroyed." Guitar Center didn't insure it, so I was out ALL of the money.

My brother in law, however, worked at the local UPS warehouse, and I was able to go in during the late hours and look for it. What do you know! It's in a corner by the employee lockers with a bunch of superficial damage, that looked like box knife cuts, to the box.

I took it back. I didn't bitch them out because Paul would have lost his job, but I was so fucking pissed. I thought I was out 2 grand.
 
Except he had to buy it back and then hope they cover him the spread.. total bull$hit. So someone put it to the side and sold it to guitar center marking it as destroyed. Probably a fairly good operation going on there at UPS behind the walls. They know what to look for and make sure not to pick it off the line too often. But because profit likely far outpaces "loss", no need to look into it further.
 
Yeah these companies might want to label their shipments as ‘Fecal Matter Online!’ or something other than ‘Cletus Vintage Guitars’.
