if I am slaving an amp into a power amp (VHT 2150) - could I then use a cab for load for the amp I’m slaving?

And turn volume down on the amp?

I you understand. So the amp always sees a load.

For example

IIC+ into VHT 2150 into cab (and guitar)
IIC+ into another cab and turn volume down (no guitar)

It wont work if your master volume is before the fx loop or whatever part of the circuit the signal is sent from. Otherwise yes.

If you don't want the dry sound of the slave amp you'll need a dummy load of some type. I think there are a few on the market; Suhr maybe? For me, I like the middle dry cab while each of the wet cabs are L-R of the dry cab; 5 ft out. Fun stereo spread.
