The buyer of my Helix LT sent me these pictures. The LT was bubble wrapped, double boxed with bubble wrap filling the outer box. How the hell does this happen?

I sent a guitar to Canada a few days ago via USPS international priority. They would ONLY let me insure it for $675!! They said if I wanted to pay double I could insure it for more, so I said, "ok, I will have to do that." After a second she informed me that the box was too big to be sent using that service so it could not be insured for more than $675!! Yeah, they are the WORST!!
Agreed, although my current local post office is the worst I've dealt with in general.CEG85":2nhbf5ji said:mooncobra":2nhbf5ji said:they are the WORST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Same could be said for Fedex, UPS, DHL, etc... Its all a crap shoot.
FedEx cracked the headstock on a Les Paul custom I ordered years ago.
Exactly what I was thinking, can't figure out how the paint would have gotten scratched from impact damage inside a box.JerEvil":w5mut41i said:Looks like someone dropped it while not carefully removing the bubble wrap... The LT is not that heavy that double boxed and bubbled well it would have missing paint on the corner and be that flat. I think it's suspect...

This sucks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have always done this as well..as soon as I receive any item its picture time, starting with the cutting off the tape..psychodave":k04c88jm said:Dave Simpson":k04c88jm said:Any advice on how to handle this with the buyer? I’d request pictures of the outside box, the inside box and bubble wrapped unit. I’d question how the damaged occurred when the item was double boxed...unless the side was pierced by a forklift.
I ALWAYS take pictures as I’m opening the box. I take pictures in stages to provide pictorial evidence in case there is any damage.

I agree. Paint only gets marred from direct contact with another hard surface. Something bubble wrapped and double boxed usually gets crushed, not the damage we see here.
