Damn, this kicks ass
It's amazing how time sort of masks how different and fresh it sounded at the time.Mailman1971":k6sxazjw said:God damn.![]()
Right off the bat. The ‘on fire’ clip. From what EVH was doing back then. Was like nothing how anyone else played. Good stuff!!![]()
That’s odd because it sounds exactly like the amp Ed used on VH 1Rdodson":3cgexc1b said:This is all on Kiss's equipment. Ed took his Les Paul gold top if memory serves, but that's it.

I was going to mention that the gain seemed a little less but still sounded like Eddie, again illustrating that his attack/technique was a big part of his sound. Similar to the Vai story of his rig instantly getting that sound when Eddie played thru it.romanianreaper":3a3efx4v said:Rdodson":3a3efx4v said:This is all on Kiss's equipment. I can see that actually. Listening to the riffs I hear a tad less of that EVH "brown" tone in there. Still sounds awesome and proves the ol' saying about tone being in the fingers.![]()
