That place should of paid Ed to screw it into the wall.
Giving it more of a relic look

For sale - 1 slightly used red white and black guitar.
Previously owned by a famous musician.
Asking 80k. Pics can be sent on request.

That can't be the "Original" Frankenstrat, Ed wouldn't let that thing out of his sight especially to a Hard Rock Cafe... It has to be one of the Fender Frankenstrats builds that were selling for$25,000 when they first hit the streets a few years back.

An Article says Frank 2 a replica was donated to the Smithsonian.

Ed probably never touched that guitar. If he did the donation in person, that's probably the first he had ever seen that guitar.

Definitely not the original Frankie. Probably not even a replica. I'd guess if it was at the Hard Rock, it was one other many striped Kramers he had used on tour.

It`s possible he touched it

The one in NY is different. That was a huge event. I remember watching it on Good Morning America, and had wanted to skip school and go into the city that day. Pretty sure there were no later donation ceremonies at other locations, or else we'd have seen footage of it long ago. In fact, for that NY one, I'd be willing to bet Kramer slapped that guitar together at their factory in NJ and just had it couriered to Ed's hotel room before he went downstairs to the limo to ride over to the HRC.

That was a Chip Ellis replica when Fender made that batch of 300.

Well I was being somewhat sarcastic but you`re probably right

I can't believe it's that easy to take a guitar from hard rock. They might want to consider locks and cameras. Seems like the slushys are more secure at 7-11

How could you tell which is the original?

AFAIK, Ed has only ever sent the real one out to Chip Ellis, when he was making the replicas for Fender, and then I think he had it on loan at the Fender Museum in Corona, CA for a while. I only know that because an employee mentioned playing it and how bad it looked and smelled, not believing King Edward could play such a POS. And then he ran into Ed, who had shown up to take it back home. When Chip Ellis got done with the replicas, Ed said he couldn't tell the difference between those and the real one. Obviously, he has a few of those Fender replicas. So there'd be no reason for the real one to ever leave the house again. I'm sure he has some kind of marking or ID on the real one that only he can recognize in case of theft.

Apparently it has been returned...? According to the update on the article?

It’s been returned with no other details. Lmao. Fuckin employee probably used it for a quick gig

Yeah, it probably went something like this:

Thief: Dude, you won't believe this but I took EVH's guitar for this gig!
Friend: Yeah right fuckface, dream on!
Thief: NO really man, it's Eddies guitar!
Friend: Yeah okay man...right.

If I were an employee there I'd take that bitch and pretend I never heard of EVH! Especially if there were no cameras...
