What does it do and how does it impact the sound and feel of the amp are there some clips or videos available?
 
Variac on - off switch – back panel (50W model only)
With the Variac engaged, the power is reduced from 50 to 32 watts. It is a softer feel with slightly less volume. The power amp saturates earlier and you might want to back off the volume a bit in order to have same the gain at a lower volume.
