Again, he needs to listen to his performance and decide if he's going to continue to sing.

Man, they're having a lot of fun. They deserve it.

In the scope of things the Ellen show is a massive audience. Good for them.

Rumor is (that I just started), DLR did Ellen backstage, because he's rumored to go both ways.

I'd like to hear DLR vs Coverdale in a sing-off.

I'm sure they could both do the cool lower range stuff! DLR has more material like that to choose from.

They look happy doing what they do. At this point they have nothing to prove it just entertainment. Still an amazing band that have set landmarks for all of us to strive for. Hell I'm not even a huge fan but the respect is there.

I believe this was recorded before Kimmel because Dave's nose doesn't have the stitches. Also, they used the same planted girl as they did on kimmel to dance with Dave. There's a bonus video of them doing dance the night away on Ellen. I just can't take Dave anymore. I give him credit but his shtick back then was bearable. It's not the same as it was. He's like a creepy uncle now. I wish he would just sing in his lower register more.

The only thing I don't like is the keyboard patch...I don't like it. Very trumpet type keys...the original keyboards were much warmer, and this new keyboard backing is way too prominent. Need to go back to that warmer tone.

Dave is kinda like the embarrassing drunk uncle at a party. Too much silly, not enough cool! Stop smiling like the joker, and sing - don't scream. Simple, you would think?

I don't think Dave sounds any worse on this Ellen show than he did in his prime live. I question his choice at 60 years of age to sing some lines an octave higher than he did at 28 years of age....... that's not normally what a vocalist does as he ages.

Yup, if only he stopped forcing the high notes where there weren't any on the album!

Omg, call Sammy!!
He might not sound so bad, but man the guy looks like he just got out of rehab and have just fallen of the wagon...

He sounds WAY worse than he did in '79. I posted a video in another thread. After that it was all downhill. He started singing less and less of the songs...

Hell, even this is a way, way better than the Kimmel DTNA performance.

He sounds better there but I agree not by the huge margins some are saying.

Dave's never been much of a "singer", but he was a hell of a front man....25 years ago... :D

I thought the keyboard track could have been a little more up tempo, seemed a little slow? I think this was taped before the Kimmel show..
