VH4 mains fuse keeps blowing...any ideas?

Everytime I try to switch on my VH4 the mains fuse blows. The lights on the front don't even flick on. Anyone got any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Bad powertubes?
 
Try pulling all of the power tubes and see if the head still blows fuses. If not put the tubes back in pairs to see if you can find the faulty pair.
 
Thanks for your replies. I'll try piulling the tubes today. If I just want to use ch3 how many tubes do I need and what sockets should they be in?
 
Pull the powertubes (the big tubes in the back), they affect all channels - without them: no sound. If the mains fuse survives that you switch the amp on with no powertubes in their sockets, put back the inner pair (switch off the amp first) and so on . . .
