I was looking at that 100 Watt VHT the few days it was there, as well. :D

Edit: Very nice, though I'd probably want to boost it, too. 8)

Just read some other posts. There's currently a 50 Watt CL that seems to have been available at the GC a few times and is still at the Tulsa one, but the 100 Watt one with the road case was only there a few days. I wish I could've tried it out but was in a hurry.

For $50 more I got the 100 watt one, a footswitch (50 watt CL is missing one) *and* a road case. Was a no brainer, but I love 50 watt amps.

Your recording sounds nothing like how the amp sounds in person... or atleast how it should sound with proper eq...

Ok, post one of your clips with proper EQ and show me what I'm missing here. Not sure how you know how *my* amp sounds with my cab and my guitars, but show me what yours does. That will give me something to strive for.

is this more of a 'VHT' tone to you guys? Same amp settings, moved the mic a little each time.

Pete

That SOTU riff works great for showing what a difference changing mic positions can make -- and is, of course, a great riff. 8)

Does it sound more 'VHTish' to you? BTW dude, if you're still in Tulsa, you need to get over here. I have a Kemper you need to check out, a cameron, a fortin, a VHT that doesn't sound like a VHT, all sorts of crazy shit here to play through!

Great Playing Pete, I thought your orig clip sounded cool.... what do I know

I'm still in Tulsa, and that sounds awesome! I'm off during weekends and have been wanting to check out that Kemper since you mentioned you had it a while back! 8)

No opinion on what a VHT should sound like, but that tone is not pleasing.
Pretty bad.
Sorry. I seem to be hearing more average to bad tones from these Kemper clips.

I don't mind constructive criticism. That means you say "hey, that sucks" or whatever, and then you could offer advice as to what you didn't like.

It's all apples and oranges to me. I think I'll take the EQ on the VHT, put the lowest and highest sliders to the moon, drop the others to the basement and have GuitarCenterGodTone. :)

Hmmmm. The overall sound of the guitar has a pretty generic processed modeler tone.
The VHT's I've played and seen live have a rich ballsy aggressive tone.
Sorry. I just don't hear good rock tone there. No offense man.

That one does have a little more vht to me.

I really am not good at recording, have to turn it up. But here is one sample from mine with the D412 (might want to skip the :30 intro)

This one was from my cell phone directly into amp, no boost, no EQ. Had the settings I listed above, bumped up the gain and mids a bit throughout, I like the very end the best but it was bedroom volume levels which sucks. the amp sounds much better at a louder volume, Ill try another clip sometime.

Thanks for posting 'em. I'll have to check after work.

And I saw this on my Facebook and think it might end up sounding pretty cool:
Keith Merrow

I just finished that Rig Pack for Kemper Amps. I made about 50 different amp profiles in the past couple days. I settled on 15 of the best ones to send them. It's tones I used on my last EP, YouTube vids, etc. Pretty gnarly high gain tones in there, modeled from the amps/gear I have here in my studio. Fun times! :P

You're the only person I've ever heard say that. Everyone has specific tastes for tones but the similarity the profile has to the miced amp is always spot on. Maybe you just don't like miced tones as you've said something negative about the tones on every Kemper thread....
