The only amp I really wish I hadn't sold in the last year or two is my Vht d60. I've found a few good deals on them and pit bulls lately. Would like some comparisons from those who have tried both. I loved the deliverance I owned, only second to my favorite 2204. Are the pit bulls comparable?
Thanks.

I have both. Different animals for sure, but with a shared DNA. Ultralead is king IMO,but some prefer the deliverance.

If your gonna want the best bad ass beast, get the UL. If all you need is a single channel you can roll off your volume for a cleanish tone(and save the bucks),go with the deliverance....But you will always wonder if you should have gotten the UL.

BUT....If you really dug the D60 that much,I would advise you to buy it again. Farther down the line you will get a chance to try/hear a UL,and you can decide then it you really want one.

I've played a D120 and a Pitbull 50CL (I think? Had two OD channels). And my favorite amp also is the 2204.

I liked both, but the Deliverance would be my pick, easily. I thought it was very much like the 2204 except itcpuld have lots more gain and low end. The 50CL was leaner and meaner. Faster. Very cool, but it didn't "breathe" and bloom the way the Deliverance did.

Yeah I can't do channel switchers. Too many years on single channels. I put my tube screamer and a tuner on top of my head for shows. Nothing out front. Having said that. Never had any time on a Ul and will be on my list to try.

That's exactly why I loved that amp. Simple but it could get modern or super clean depending how I set it up. Eh have to find another one then.

I own a D60, and played a CL50 last week. I could easily live with either.

See, I'm wondering the same thing. I've never spent anytime on a pit bull. Had the deliverance for a couple years. I'm going to grab whichever one is the best deal first lol.

Had the Ultra Lead 120, and the D-60. They are really different in my opinion, the Ultra Lead is drier, and tighter, more unforgiving. The Deliverance, is still tight, but not as dry, and a bit juicier. ThenUltra Lead is a pure Death Metal beast, and ferocious. The Deliverance is mean and grindy, still a martial machine, but not as percussive, but I like it better for rock and classic metal tones. It will do Death metal type tones as well, I prefer the less setting boosted. Gets mean as hell then. The Ultra never needed a boost.

They're very different. I had a UL, bought a D60 and sold the UL.

It's a matter of which flavor you like.

UL is a thin crust supreme. Deliverance is a pan meat lovers.

Ha! I know I love the deliverance, but now I really want to try a pitbull. A little more different than my 2204.

The Deliverance is a very organic/articulate vintage sounding high gain amp with a modern twist.

I found the amp to be similar to my boosted SLOs. Almost the same punch. Damn close.

Deliverance 120 is one of the baddest damn amps on the planet. Period.

Hey Jer, out of curiosity since I've been somewhat following your Kemper/Helix escapades... have any of the models/profiles you've tried with either rig come close to the Deliverance tones? I'm hoping to pick up a KPA, Helix, or maybe an AFX but I've been a VHT guy for quite a while, and I don't see much for those, or clips that have happened with more recent firmwares.

Back to the OP, I had a UL, had a D60. I didn't really love my UL, but it may have been the speakers I had. The D60 sounded great with everything. Super cool amp, and super versatile despite being a single channel. Great volume knob dynamics.

The UL wasn't as responsive as the Deliverance but as a channel switcher it's one of the best out there. I don't remember loving the tones on it, but was recently listening to some recordings I did with it back then and thinking, hey, the playing isn't great but the tones are pretty nice!
