Vid with Santiago discussing the YJM100, answers forum ?s

This amp is going to appeal to alot more than YJM fanboys. I don't his name visually plastering the front of it anyway.
Essentially a 1959 w/ reverb, built in boost and Marshall's version of Power Scaling, which seems to sound better than other amps I owned or heard with Power Scaling.
This is a basic Marshall punch you in the balls straight power circuit and IMO will smoke their preamp distortion- based heads

I think that associating that amp with that fathead was a really stupid move :aww:
that's the amp everyone has been expecting for like 5 decades and now they release it as a signature model of one of most hated douchebags on musicians world
an original stock non-master volume Marshall that could be played at low volumes with a fuckin Yrghie Malmshit signature and digital reverb

Ronnie Lee Tekro will have to ponder these thoughts.

10+ feet away you would never see the "YJM" on the chassis, just looks like a SLP

well stated!

I give huge kudos to Marshall for doing new stuff like they did in this amp. The haters will continue to hate because Mark Cameron had nothing to do with it, though.

maybe they should not send you the YJM when you buy it, more men will be happy then

Not buying one, broski.

So Yngwie's using his prototype which is built old school style, like Slashes prototype was?

Cool vid and discusses how some items from the YJM were installed in the AFD to save time. Goes through some of the questions that I have seen here, guess he still reads the forum

I read it from time to time... I'm not always in forums plus reading these things can be unhealthy

in any case, not directly answering this forum, all you guys ask the same questions everywhere. You need to be more original

not really, 1st prototype was made straight into pcb.. The AFD went through an extra stage because nobody was sure of the tone and building on a vero board is obviously more flexible. Nothing to do with tone or that vero boards "sound better" than pcbs...

Santiago, it would be nice if Marshall would let you build these the way you would like instead of like an Apple or Dell

there is nothing wrong about using pcbs. If I knew what Slash wanted from the begining I'd have gone straight into a pcb.
Guitar amps were made into pcbs before Apple or Dell I think ;-)

So Mesa and Marshall both release amps with built in attenuators. Interesting!

Santiago doesn't like using the term "attenuator" when describing their power reduction circuit.
because we don't use one

I'm so jet lagged now back home that I thought going to forums would be like good therapy

Believe me that there is nothing wrong in a well designed pcb. The can be quieter and definitely much more consistent than any other methods.

btw, the loop is series and footswitchable.

I talked to Santiall a couple times and at the booth. Nice dude. Helped me find Ryan Rhodes.

I'm still going to try both of them, if the YJM still captures the true feel of a NMV then it will be nice especially if the power reduction works well.

Whatever the master volume circuit is, it does sounds much better than any master I tried in any of my plexi type amps.
