Actually Kage & Ralphie have talked so many good things abt the 1101 I had to get one myself should be here next week... can't wait to try it out and compare it with my 11R !

If you do need to upgrade, the new firmware adds several amp models as well as other nice features. I think C63 is the number.

Thanks. I will have to check mine. Now to get the manual out and figure out how to do it!

I used to really dig into things and learn how to use them. These days, I like it to be as near as plug and play as possible.

We should setup a dropbox for all of the gsp1101 owners around here to share presets. Anyone already have dropbox installed? You get 2gb (?) for just installing it and a free 500mg for each referral.

i got my gsp1101 for 220 euros , did find a good deal on it, actually bought back the one i sold a few years back =0 just got it this week

Bit of a necrobumb here but I finally got to try the GSP and Velocity300 live last weekend on 2 gigs.

I gotta say, that combo KILLS! Super easy to setup, I found my 3 sounds in less than 10 minutes including setting up the gear! I used the 77 master volume with a boost (escapes me which od it was) as my rhythm tone, Mark IV with the same boost as my lead tone with a touch of delay, and I think the 59 as the clean patch. Signal chain: guitar -> GSP1101 -> Velocity 300 bridged -> Marshall JCM900 1960B completely stock. Mic'd that mother into FOH and man...tonal bliss at least to my ears, the sound man was happy, the guys in the band liked it etc...couldn't be happier!

The Velocity300 1U is a marvellous poweramp. I like how the "reactance" and "definition" knobs have a real impact on the tone and charasteristics of the sound. Combined with the GSP it's really, to me, one of the best kept secrets out there! The setup cost me around 430€ ($570 with today's rate) including shipping. Needless to say I'm really psyched with this !

I had an Eleven Rack before the GSP and to me the tones and usability of the GSP are superior to the 11R at least in a live setting. Haven't had time to direct record the GSP yet but I would think the end result will be at least as good as the 11R was, especially with the Redwirez IRs.

I'm using mine with a Marshall Valvestate 8008 w/c63 and I love it. Would I be able to tell the different with a Tech21/Velocity? The Velocity is quite hard to find here in England I've noticed, on ebay it is anyway!

Have you tried the cab sims to the xlr out? I've matched mine damn close to what I'm hearing from the power amp/cab. really nice not having to worry about a mic now

Have you tried the cab sims to the xlr out? I've matched mine damn close to what I'm hearing from the power amp/cab. really nice not having to worry about a mic now

Haven't had time to noodle around with the cab sims that much . I basically took it to the gigs without knowing what I'm going to get out of it with the poweramp and was really pleasantly surprised! I did try it some at home, played a few presets to Cubase just to know it works and updated it to c63 as well, but didn't even load any of the Redwirez free IRs in... .

What cab model(s) are you using? On stage I have the basic 1960B with the stock g12t-75's and that's what I'd be shooting for, if it makes any difference.

We have all our gear packed in our van at the moment, lost our rehearsal space a month ago and we're gigging every two weeks so no need to pack all the time .
