I've been using the Zakk Wylde wah for the past 4-5 years and am ready to try something new. I like the Zakk in the toe down position, nice and nasally Michael Schenker thing going on, but I'm not to crazy with the sweep, there is like no mid range to it, it is very sudden and not very vocal. I like it for certain parts, but when I just wanna bend a big note and slowly rock the pedal, it's not really there. That all said any suggestions for a new one?? I haven't looked at anything in particular yet. I would like something similar to the Zakk in the toe down, but I want a better vocal sweep in the middle of the pedal.

For 135 to 150 you can get a used Teese Wizzard Wah. Great pedal!!!!

The (old style) budda bud-wah is great for a very vocal sweep. Not good if you like to "wah" dirty chords, but single not leads, it's awesome.

+1. Love mine - great vocal like sound on solos. For dirty chording you really can't beat the classic Dunlop Cry-Baby

This is the first one I was thinking about actually. I'll be using mostly for leads. Is there any difference in the new one? I'm not crazy over the new ones casing.

Not sure about any circuit differences, but yeah, the new casing sucks!

Make sure you check out the 535Q. Its an AMAZING pedal, and I will be replacing my crybaby classic with that. It really gets that "full" wah sound you're looking for. The other "signature" wah's are crap, in my subjective opinion.

Buddy Guy wah. That thing is awesome and possibly my new favorite pedal.

Love my CAE-MC404. I haven't tried a whole lot-just a few until I found this one.

There's a big cult following of the Dimebag wah, and I happen to love the EVH wah. It has a great vocal mid-range sweep and is true bypass, which is a necessity to me, as I have it at the start of my chain ahead of my switching boxes and such. Then there's the 35Q...I would check out those 3 before the rest.

I have the 535Q, it is good, has lots of variables in the settings, but I went for the Vox Big Bad Wah about a year ago and I love it: 2 inductors, 2 voicings, 2 wah sweep ranges, all switchable on the TOP panel next to the pedal, not hanging off the side like the 535Q. The Vox gets a very "chewey" sound when set on wah 2, inductor "green" and voicing switch up. Oh and there's a drive knob so you can get some boost too. It has a big footprint for a wah, but it's worth it to me so I can actually see the settings pointing up at me, not sideways like on the 535Q.

The dime wah is just like a 535q on steroids..

its just like a 535Q period, not much else to change.

i own a 535Q and to this day i have still been researching for a pedal to replace it, they are great workhorses, insert 5150 analogy here, but there are better wah's that exist, just have not managed to find one.

Looks like I'll have to check out the 535Q too. I played my old singers dime wah and and liked it a good bit, I didn't get to spend to much time with unfortunately and didn't moved the settings around a whole lot.

I bought a used Little Horsie II the other day to replace my CAE wah and I like it. It gets nice and snarly but also maintains the "fullness" of the rest of the signal. The switchless feature is also nice and the build-in buffer seems to work very well.

The CAE has two settings, both of which are too extreme for my taste. It should have a setting exactly in the middle.

Usually I tend to agree with that but I tried a Vox Joe Satriani Big Bad Wah and was blown away, so blown away that I walked away with it then and there....

If you get a chance to check it out, I think that youll find that it does everything you want and more..

+1 Teese is the way to go. What ever flavor you like, hes got it. Ive had my RMC 3 for about 8 years. Ive had many other wahs in that time and none have bumped the Teese.
