Not sure if I prefer the version with the mids control knob or the one with 3 selectable gain levels and fixed mids

Those who own one or have tried , which one rocked your boat and how do you rate their suitability for the world of high gain rock tones with humbucking equipped guitars, I am not interested in single coil fitted guitars at all.

It sounds like a plexi, softer low mids, and crunch (vs. a hopped up JCM800 = pinnacle deluxe).
Make sure you're playing a fender-style clean amp or if a multi-channel, in the clean stage, as there's TOO MUCH gain to be a good boost.
