^^^^^ This.... Good Lord that room is incredible.

What are the tiles you have on the walls & why did you decide on them?

Congratulations.
Thanks. I actually wish it was a little bigger now that it is done. :aww:

The panels were from GIK Acoustics.

I emailed them and asked what they would recommend given the dimensions of the room. They recommended the acoustic panels and corner bass traps but I decided to go with just the panels for now. I also decided to go with track lighting instead of can lighting based upon info that I found online (essentially can lighting can be a conduit for sound waves). The guys at GIK were very cool and answered all of my questions. My husband could have built the panels but he works a lot of hours so it made more sense to buy and GIK came highly recommended.

Priorities in order....jam room first, bedrooms second. Have fun on the move. I know you guys are ready.

    I had bedrooms and the dining room planned out first (had to make sure that my corner cupboards which once belonged to my parents had a nice spot). I had a panic attack the other day because I was not sure that one of the dressers (that belonged to my grandma) would fit in my daughter's bedroom (it is a long dresser that has been in my basement begging for a nice place to live). I ran over to measure and we have plenty of space. The kids are getting their own bedrooms so they are excited.

Our jam room just has carpet pading on the walls and beer cans all over the floor :(

That room looks awesome and was very well thought out

Thanks for the link....Lots of great info on their website.

You deserve it, you are hard working and a dedicated parent so good things should come to you

Am I jealous? Hell yeah but the wife did allow me to have a boat.

Congrats!

Very nicely done! Looks great!
I'm currently finishing my basement as well so that my I can have my own studio/man cave!

Well done!

:)

I still have a few more amps to load... Then to set up PA, drums...

Here is a shot of the wet bar and my office space...the prior owner never finished the walk-out so our contractor is working on that now. They had to do some drainage work before they could lay a footer for the walk-out/patio... It's a mud pit right now...

Looks great! I would love to have that space. By the way, let me know when you are up and running again. I am looking for a set of 5881's.

killer practice space by the way
It looks funny without the 5153 in the pic. It will be there tomorrow.

My husband is freaking out. We have too much stuff. This will be a PITA move.

First of all, your husband is right. He doesn't have too much stuff. The rest of you have too much stuff!  At least that's how it is at my house.

The new practice room looks killer! Congrats.

Amazing room.. I just got my floor in this weekend as I have been working on a basement reno/home recording studio. Also talking with the guys from GIK right now as I find their stuff reasonably priced and it looks sharp. I noticed you got the off white and your walls are similar to mine. I think I'll go with the same. One thing though, I totally would have gotten the bass traps for that space and with that much gear in there. It may get woofy with all those instruments jammed into that space. I'm probably going to go with corner traps and some wall panels and build my own smaller panels for nooks and crannies as mine is an irregular shape.

He has 3 acoustic drum kits and an e-kit. The rest is "mine".
