So I'm not sure if this qualifies as a rig or gear talk but I thought it was interesting. Today I was at my local Guitar Center just seeing if they have anything good or interesting a I was trying out a rivera knucklehead tre half stack with a Aria pro 2 RS the amp was right by the guitar counter. This guy walks in with a Santana PRS AD and in the picture Santana is holding his PRS which I don't know how much those cost probably around $2,500 I never really got into the PRS market. The guy says I want this guitar in the picture so the sales associate looked it up it to see if its in the system and then because they're on backorder he calls PRS. He tells him it'll be $3,300 the guy says "oh I didn't think it was going to be that much money." Sales guy says what about a used one how much do you want to spend then the older gentleman goes "I don't know $200 $300 what am I trying to say sorry I mean $2000 I'm not sure because I really didn't think I'd ever be able to do something like this". Then after asking a few more questions he couldn't remember his phone number or what he asked the associate to write down for him so he had information about what guitar he wanted and how much it was. Then he just kind of aimlessly walked around, the the store when I was leaving. My,friend who works there the sales associate he was talking to said he came in and bought a Chad pro3 recently I don't know what that is but could some older people be buying instruments and other stuff now that they're older maybe they have dementia or Alzheimer's or whatever and not know what they're doing and the sales associates are taking advantage of this and not just in Guitar Center but anywhere?

The guy who posted this is actually the old guy coming in with the ad looking for prs guitars, he's actually seeing himself In the past and recounting it..super weird. Time space warp shit.

That dude you saw must be the same guy who told you that your Mesa can cop SLO tones....

I work in the mental health and disabilities field and sadly this is nothing new and not relegated to Alzheimers or dementia. I had a gentleman with various mental delays that I support come back to the group home one day with a whole bunch of sports apparel and shoes. When I asked him where he got it all he said " Greg said it would make me cool" with a big smile on his face. When I asked him who Greg was he said he was the guy at a popular sports chain store that I won't mention specifically. When I asked him what else Greg said, he said that this salesclerk told him he would get all the chicks and that he wouldn't be cool unless he owned all of this stuff.

I was absolutely furious and completely beside myself in anger at the time. I brought the man I support down to the sporting goods store and demanded to speak to the clerk and the manager. They refunded all of his money, the employee was fired on the spot and they even gave my little buddy a $50 gift card for future use.

Some could say that someone needs to take control of the money when it comes to many with delays and mental deficiencies but in many situations that's just not how things work. You would like to think that people in this world would be honest enough to deal with situations like that appropriately but that's just not our world anymore it seems. Some might argue that it's hard to spot dementia or alzheimers and in some cases that's correct when things are mild but if the signs are seen in a case like the one posted by the OP the people involved should help the individual instead of trying to sell him/her something.

I completely agree I actually work in the special needs field myself and see a similar shady situations also and it really bugs me to see stuff like that.

I said they sound similair and I believe that when you track a old 5150 and recto together they take on the vibe of a slo and check that boosted slo vid go boost a recto and tell me there are not similarities :D
