What u really thought was "that riff is badass, as is Demartini, rig-talkers know their stuff."

Better than someone playing Smoke on the Water or Paranoid...

That song has one of the most memorable riff of all time. It must be good because you recognized it and the song was written in the 80's. What the heck were you doing at Guitar Center? That place has the shittiest guitar collection around. The only thing worth buying from there are maybe a few amps from the Platium room.

I saw a kid, like maybe 14, play all of Rush's Circumstances at a GC once. My long-lost faith in humanity was instantly restored.

I wish I would see this. Every time I walk in a gc I just cringe. They could at least tune the guitars before trying their "shred" licks. It's always a painful experience

Ill take Sabbath over butt rock any day.
And I will take DeMartini and Ratt over some boring Sabbath riffs or pathetic "modern metal." Guys who can't sing shouting over boring guitar parts and effects like the static am radio thing. Ozzy was a zillion times better with Randy Rhoads and Jake E. Lee. I will always prefer something that rocks and grooves, and even has a melody.

I was at GC last Tuesday returning my online used purchase. I like that they do that, especially when it was a 4x12

You really need to listen to the first Black Sabbath record. And I mean the whole thing. Better yet skip the first song and go from there. The Wizard, Behind the wall of sleep...fagettaboutit. Quite possibly the most swinging metal album of all time.

We have 3 GC's here.

Any one of which usually has 8 guys like this dewd all playing at once.

I don't understand why you guys are putting down people trying out guitars at GC. All of you are bad at some point in your guitar playing career too. I rather see a crappy guitar player enjoy playing music and improve over time then seeing a kid turning into a stupid rapper.

Why do you have to choose ? I love Ratt and Sabbath. I like Whitesnake and I like Wasp. Hell I even like Sammy and DLR. I like Wes Montgomery, Jimi Hendrix and enjoy Satchel too. Why choose when you can have it all ?

Shitar Center is what I call it, lol. The only thing I buy from them is strings and picks and that's pushing it.

Then you're missing out on a lot of great deals. I've bought stuff there I flipped for a 300% profit before and I'm probably going to do it again tomorrow when they open and I can call to ask about something they have priced way low. Lots of times they take in used gear that they don't know is pretty valuable. I was minutes late to snag a very clean EBMM EVH in blue last year for $1000 and I probably could have gotten them to come down from that.

Impressive. Never looked that close myself probably due to my taste in gear. They never have what I want.

Exactly. Used gear from there has been my source for 2 years now. 86 Jackson..400. Mark 2C..799. Marshalls..82 2204-849, 425a-350, and I just found an 82 1960 cab with 65s for 349. Oh, and I forgot...Mesa 2x12 halfback w/ev12ls, 119...and they charge 25-35 to ship a 4x12.

sah5150, Chubtone, Rupe...one of you guys needs to help us! Counter this anti-80's weirdness, more LA club scene stories, another Ronni LeTekro tone thread...I'll even take Aquanet primping 101 at this point.
