Has anyone come close to what Chuck was able to achieve in terms of heaviness, creativity, and innovation? I haven't really seen it if so.

I don't think so, but I stopped exploring new death metal in the early 2000s, so there could be. Many bands I never heard or heard of.

Some not mentioned
Vader
Bolt Thrower
Autopsy
Luciferion
Horror of Horrors
Angelcorpse
Angelcorpse! Gene Palubicki, one of the hardest working mofos in Death Metal! Not sure if you've heard one of his newer bands, Hexorcist, but if you dig Angelcorpse you'll probably dig them. Evil Reaping Death is their full length but they did a split in 2023 with Morbid Messiah that is pretty sick, too.

Job for a Cowboy

There's a newer prog death metal band that is fantastic as well, Blighted Eye

You’re schooling me here.. I had no clue Ladybaby or ladybeard? Were the pioneers or Kawaii metal 😂 my brother just schooled me on babymetal last year.. I thought it was insanely innovative.. however I just found some Ladybeard stuff from over a decade ago.. had no clue this has been around that long. good info 🤙🏽
Don't misunderstand my post mate:

AFAIC BabyMetal pioneered the genre but LadyBaby / Ladybeard / Deadlift Lolita (collabs between the Aussie dude and different Japanese gals, one of which was a very-successful picture / video Idol) weren't far-behind.

I was responding to the quote in my post; you'd said, "... the mash up of electronic, & deathcore is 🔥🔥🔥".
I therefore thought of LadyBeard and another band I couldn't think of the name for 'cause BabyMetal back then tended to use more traditional heavy metal for the heavy parts.

Hey, glad to be of assistance mate.

Ok looks like it was credited to babymetal but you’re right Ladybeard was not far behind & is also credited as a pioneer to help catapult it into popularity.. I still had no clue this has been around that long haha I just know they keep advancing the genre. Here’s the most recent madness to play with your emotions:

This is tough, too many to choose. But there is one definite favorite in the underrated/underexposed column.

Anata.

Steve Shalaty from Immolation is a local guy, and he's drumming in a new band now called Untoward. They played their first show the other weekend, and I showed up late and missed them. I didn't know until I got there that the first band I didn't know was a new band by some local metal guys. Can I still say I was at their first show if I showed up late and missed them?

Benighted
Archspire
200 Stab Wounds

For the dude that likes The Browning, also check out the Germans. Theyve been doing electronicore for a while:
