I had a notion to go get a 48 months s.a.c. Strat at Guitar Center and then remembered I've got a Squier Strat with crummy electronics I could put my Mojotone Strat wiring harness on with these Jalen pups I've had forever. I could get some new tuners, string trees for the headstock and put an upgraded bridge on it, and after some light fret polishing (or fret leveling and crowning if I have to) and have a guitar that plays as good as and sounds better than a US Strat for way way less. Plus, it has the big headstock and some Birdseye in it. Sadly, it's only 21 frets though 😒

I have a VSVG on my #1 Strat and it’s my favorite. Looks funky but man, zero tuning issues, bar stays exactly where I move it, and it sounds good.

I did learn that not all Wilk bridges are created equal. Have a guitar with a VS50, which is the cheap version of the VS100. Cheap one is not good.

Very similar to real Floyds vs Licensed pot metal versions.

Honestly? I really like the fender pure vintage 6 screw trem; I never have any real issues if the nut is good, and always sounds "good"; craftsmanship/ quality is always very good

I have a VS100 on a Grover Jackson era Washburn and I LOVE that bridge.

I'd second that. Beats the two point bridge for tonal transfer IME. Not sure if that is because the pure vintage has a larger trem block, at least, on the traditional strats vs 90's AmStd style trems I am familiar with, or, if it's because of six screws vs a knife edge on two points, or both. I found it interesting that even the two points returned to the original stamped steel saddles. I always found the am std rectangular block style more plinky and prone to more string breakage by comparison. I swapped them for graphtechs and it was even worse, lol.

Musiclilly on Amazon has great cost effective options.

Another option.

Go for quality. Guyker, Wilkinson, etc… all junk. Even the Squier stock bridge is better.

The genuine Fender Vintage ones, no need for me to go elsewhere on my Vintage style Strats. I tried the Callaham complete tremolo bridge assembly and it made the guitar sound too metallic and "plinky" so back I went.

21 frets is just fine, just ask Yngwie or David Gilmour. 😁 I installed the V/N Fender OEM trem in my YJM Strat and have been happy.

Yeah, by the VS100 is great. I think the VS50 would be that different but in hindsight the quality of metal with knife edges etc does make a big difference.

The guitar I have the VS50 on is a cheaper guitar. I’m probably gonna trade it at some point, but if I don’t I’ll definitely upgrade to the VS100.

The MannMade trems, whatever design PRS uses, make for the best feeling trems I’ve ever put my hands on. The raised, rounded lip they have feels great on the hand.

Callaham advertises it as a vintage trem, but uses stainless steel saddle screws.

Matter of fact, I think everything in the Callaham unit is stainless. I wanted to like the Callaham I tried really badly - craftsmanship was great - but I, too, found it plinky on my Am Std strat (this one was a 2-point); got a new pure vintage one and the plinkiness was gone.
