the greatest electric guitarist of modern history even a blink of the eye - Jimi Hendrix.

Jimi Hendrix sucks.
Look in the mirror. You suck. Bye bye . . .
Are you 12? I think your mommy is calling...run along junior.

I don't give a damn about Jimi, but Clapton is great. Signature/tribute guitars in general arent appealing to me.

Now this is EXACTLY the kind of thread I want to wake up to on a Sunday morning !!!

I can't believe I'm agreeing with the OP but I do. Not as aggressively mind you but Clapton hasn't done anything I think much of since Cream (Bluesbreakers were before Cream, Truetone) and Hendrix was, as said in the "jam with Cream" video, a force of nature. Cream era Clapton is some awesome shit but it's been 40+ years of anemic, plinky blues/pop music since then. He's a good guitar player but watch any one of his Crossroads festivals on TV and he's usually the least interesting one you'll see on the stage the whole festival.

I think Hendrix is hard to touch on a sig model because his guitar is so unorthodox in it's setup, righty turned lefty. How do you sell it on a regular basis to regular folks. It's really just something they can do limited runs of for collectors. I think that's why it's hasn't been a mainstay in the Fender lineup. I will say though that if the Clapton sig came with big frets I would like that for a Strat.

At what point did I ever say Cream came before the Bluesbreakers?

Eric was great for the time... Jimi Hendrix took playing and showmanship to an entirely new level. My friends mother (Dolly) claims to have dated Jimi Hendrix and also Nicky Hopkins. The stories I have heard... :scared: She claims Jimi wrote 'Dolly Dagger' about her. She use to work at a club in LA that used a pirate theme, and a toy dagger was part of their accoutrements.

Since Cream?

Blind Faith
Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs
Slowhand

Those are just the acclaimed ones...

I still listen to Clapton once in a while. Mostly the Time Pieces CD.
Just some good general stuff. Can only handle any music in small doses these days.

Nice story. Dolly Dagger was written about Devon Wilson, Jimi's girlfriend

Figures... Her mom is goofy to say the least, hence the :scared: emoticon.

No biggie, you posted the Bluesbreaker's as if it was an example to prove the OP wrong that anything since Cream was no good.....

...and Business, I'm well aware of his stuff after Cream. I still think it's milquetoast and dull. It doesn't matter, it's just personal opinions. Obviously a lot of people think EC's the bomb well after Cream but I'll never be one of them.

Yeah I knew you knew
My point was: he was still relevant, regardless of personal opinions
As for my personal tastes, I've got Slowhand, which I like even if it contains pop elements, and From The Cradle, which is more flawed and generic. Dominos album is in the mail, Disreali Gears and Bluesbreakers are on "to buy" list and does anybody have an Analogman Beano Boost for sale? ;)

Beano Boost into a VOX AC15 is simply unbeatable!

Got a little Vox AC4HW I bet wouldn't sound too bad either ;)

Ah!
The guy in my Avatar is actually called "Business" and the character is from an obscure comedy sketch (in french). This is where I got my username 15 years ago and I never changed it since.

Funny you would mention Devo, I just bought "Q: Are We Not Men? A: We Are Devo!" last week and have been giving it a spin
