What amp(s) have you bought/sold numerous times?

No clue how someone could own the same amp so many times, makes absolutely no sense to me. I sometimes think people that flip so many amps over and over are just unhappy with their playing and will never find an amp that works for them.

Sometimes.. it's just money. For instance back in the day before good cell phone cameras. Before the internet got as big as it is.. before paypal and ebay started taking such massive fees... you could find a silver jubilee for 600 shipped in classifieds.. take good pics and sell it for 2500 on ebay... etc.. bogners sold for 2300.00 but find them for 170- 1800 and sell them a month or two later... jcm 800s for 400.00. Trade someone for a dual rectifier, sell it for 1200..00. Etc. I live in an area with no guitar shops for 3 hours. Buy and sell. Make a profit try something else. Essentially get paid for trying out amps.

It’s going to happen with an Engl Special Edition too but, I’m going to keep the next one I get.

I'm interested to hear what makes you want to sell it as well as considering it to buy it back.

I sold my Engl SE EL34 a few months ago, with very little regret. It did a few things really well, but in the end, to me, my Invader is more versatile and has a better 'step' in the high-gain mode, that's switchable.
I found that with the SE, in the Lead I and II channels, you'd have to have the gain typically below noon, with Gain boost engaged for that brutal metal tone, but if you disengage the Gain boost, the remaining tone was quite limp.
If you then increase the gain to say 2 'o clock or higher to get a good base tone, engaging the Gain Boost would result in way too much.
YMMV, but that's one area where the Invader would provide me two very good tones per channel, instead of 1.

I LOVE the pseudo 5th channel/rear overdrive section direct into the power amp tones. I only used Lead II for a lead tone and I found it pretty easy to dial in. I’m the tweak each channel to the spot that speaks to me type and after it’s set, I only adjust the volumes. I don’t adjust the gains, EQ’s or the boosts once they’re set to taste. I’m a prog metal/80’s hard rock/fusion tones kind of guy—maybe that’s why I the SE. I like the Savage 120 a lot as well.

Don't get me wrong, I dig those tones too and I found a lot of great tones in the SE. It's just that the gain boost 'intervals' were either too big on Lead I & II, and too little on Clean and Crunch. This is where the Invader can also act as a set-and-forget amp, but with 8 truly different tones in 4 channels. Well, maybe 6, since CH4 is way too wooly, saturated, smooth for me.
I dig the Savage too and get the most use nowadays out of my Savage 60. It was my first serious tube amp and I sold it the 1st time, to buy the Invader...10 years later I found the Savage 60 again, bought it and it gives you that raw, pissed off Marshall-tone, where the Invader is being too polite...CH2 can be quite smooth as well.
