Here are 2 current bands I think deserve to be much bigger/more successful than they are:

OURS:

THE DREAMING:

Pigmy Love Circus.

Just saw them at the dragonfly last Saturday. 24 years strong and
counting. (sort of)

Child's Play............by far. The first band that came to mind when reading this title.

I hadn't heard about their singer...what happened?

I don't know exactly but I do no that he has had difficulty with drugs ever since Child's Play and people close to him have told me that he never seemed to shake it. So I believe drugs were the foundation of his demise. I heard also that it was the reason they never broke it big. All too common with bands from this era......................Sad.

Steve Hillage

Spike

MOXY

Coney Hatch

never made it in America (our loss) but huge at home: Anthem

Thor!

2 bands that I loved and wish were still around and writing today... not sure what happened but alot of talent and good songwriting here...

-Soulmotor
-DoubleDrive(1000 yard stare was a great album in my day)

apparently I spoke too soon   ....I see that Soulmotor is writing again, tho nowhere near the goodness of their self titled album. Darin Wood's got a cool, bluesy, heavy voice..much better songwriting on the 1st 2 albums.

Not really a band, but I always loved Tony Macalpine and never thought he got enought credit:

  Total agreement.

Lillian Axe and Blue Murder should have been much bigger as well, IMHO.
Kamelot is another obscenely talented group that no one I know has even heard of.

Lots of great bands mentiod in this thread.

I'm gonna add to it with:

Virgos Merlot...love it.

Rough Cutt...both albums are as good as anything (imo better) from the strip.

The Exies...yeah they had some success but their last album should have put them over the top. A brilliant album.

The lead singer, Brian Jack, just died a few months ago.
Wow. Hate to hear that. I auditioned for his solo act around '92 or '93. Super nice guy...
