i'm probably going to see woven hand on the 30th of Nov

david eugene edwards is someone you have to see live to appreciate, like mike landau.

if those two ever collaborated, live, i think the result would be profound.
they are two musicians on a very short list that i currently have any desire to pay to see live-eric gales is another-although i wouldnt turn down free vh, eagles, steely dan, or ej tickets!

They are now a lot harder louder, missed the subtle solo prformances of him, but great...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=THlgU-8dMYg

He is always intense and fresh, combines old blues with non cliche rock, has on every album, at least 3 very cool diffenrt songs, I think Bill Frisell would make more sense, way more open and alternative ....

He draws from other influences than Landau (which certainly is a very superior cool guitarist, but with IMHO boring backround ), Edwards is much more diverse and punkish (Joy Division, Birthday Party....).

Landau => https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mLkSl0dKOsI
Edwards => https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UimIi1-aSDc
:D

Edwards had some cool moves like Ian Curtis live.....

I'm still looking for more current stuff to grab me, and reading what you guys have been listening to is a big help. Thanks!

Until then, I've been stuck in my hair/80s metal past (it's just fun to play!):
Cinderalla - "Night Songs" and "Long Cold Winter"
Def Leppard - "Pyromania"
Ratt - "Ratt & Roll 81-91" and "Infestation"
Motley Crue - "Dr. Feelgood" and "Girls, Girls, Girls"
Ozzy Osbourne - "Bark at the Moon"
Van Halen - "Van Halen"
Guns n' Roses - "Appetite for Destruction"
L.A. Guns - "L.A. Guns" and "Cocked & Loaded"

the company band pros and cons ep
kyuss blues for the red sun
stone mountian freeway -home sweet hell
new anthrax
sprit caravan- dreamwheel

I got into Deftones just a few days ago...I really dig them. I always knew about Deftones but never took the time to listen to them. Currently I'm listing to their Diamond Eyes album, it's really good!
Other than I'm mostly listening to Opeth regularly

This weekend:

Riot - Fire Down Under
Slash - Apocalyptic Love
Mercyful Fate - Melissa
Blackberry Smoke - Little Piece of Dixie
Judas Priest - Stained Class

The new Toadies album
Linclon Brewster's Today is The Day
In This Moment - Blood
Dio- Evil or Divine

My cousin keeps trying to push new modern metal bands on me, thinking that this band here and there is the most amazing stuff he's ever head. I respect him for it but honestly I'm bored shitless of it all.

The only new stuff I'm looking forward to hearing is the new Abbe May album, but that stuff is going way beyond what she's done before (some kind of spooky synth-techno direction).

Otherwise:

-Rush
-AC/DC (pre-1980)
-Regurgitator
-Pantera
-Steve Perry
-Hootenanny
-Men at Work

Broke out some old Classic rock.
Jackson Browne "Lawyers in Love" Cd. Good easy listening stuff.

Lately I've found I'm NOT listening to much music at all, save for the kiddies stuff, children's music only.

Tried to listen to the Steve Harris solo album British Lion when it was streaming a couple of weeks ago but just didn't gel with the music at all. I may have to try to listen to it properly when I get the chance to buy the cd locally. Judging from the teasers and the stream it's not an album I want to buy from the web.

During the last nightshift stretch last week I did listen to some Paul Gilbert, Gary Moore and obviously the Nightwish live clips with the new lady fronting the band :). But apart from those snippets, nothing comes to mind that I've listened to in a while.

It might be that we're concentrating on our own music at the moment why I'm not listening to much else.

Enslaved - RIITIR
Burzum - Filosofem
Ashra - Blackouts
Ashra - New Age of Earth
Ashra - Correlations
Opeth - Blackwater Park
Tangerine Dream - Force Majeure
Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here
Yes - Close to the Edge
King Crimson - Red
Ratt - Invasion of Your Privacy
Morbid Angel - Altars of Madness
Michael Hedges - Aerial Boundaries
UK - UK

Don't bother with British Lion. It's abysmal.

Hey thx for the heads up, that's what I kinda thought when listening to the stream. Waste of perfectly good €uros if bought?

*Vildhjarata - "Masstaden"
*Inhale/Exhale - "Movement"
*Sylosis - "Monolith"

...and need to pick up BTBAM's new one released today, "The Parallax II: Future Sequence"

pretty nice list. cool to see Ashra and Enslaved mentioned in here. Red is an all time favorite.

Nails -- Unsilent Death
Pallbearer -- Sorrow and Extinction
Bardo Pond -- Amanita
Melvins -- Houdini
Secrets of the Moon -- Seven Bells
Torche -- Harmonicraft
Windhand

Older stuff. Everything new sounds the same and needs a bit of soul.
