What are your thoughts on the Diezel VH4?

i can make a Herbert open and be too tight . No mods . The mid switch and high master volume with low channel volume and a gate makes it roar . I made a video with my super loud drummer . I drowned his ass out with Herbert . There’s so many myths about it can’t cut live and it’s bullshit . If you second switch the opposite of scooped it roars . I’ve never had any of the problems people speak of with Herbert . I’m not talking about you . I just wanted to say this because I hear so much dumb stuff about Herbert .
I need post that video . But when people play on my Herbert they don’t like how tight I set it . Not liquidity at all or compressed .
Yesterday I showed @Omnipotent1 how vh4 can set to full juicy high gain and not dry at all . So there rhe vh4 rumors too . I showed how to get Marshall jose type juicy tones out of channel 2 . Because I wanted to show him a lot of online stuff can be wrong . It’s really in the hands of each person. But Omni can vouch .
But ya I’m not talking about you man. Just wanted to chat about Diezel

At living room volumes I still have to run the treble and presence near 2 - 3 o'clock to get the top end response that I want on my 2023 VH4. When you close mic the cabinet you can back it off, and when you turn up to rehearsal volume it can be backed off significantly as some of those upper register frequencies come to life with the additional volume. It also should be noted that chan 2 on the latest version is greatly improved and just kills for Mod Marshallesques tones, and chan 4 can now be used for rhythm playing as it is more open, brighter and meaner sounding. If you use a frontloaded V30 cab the sizzle comes back and it sounds a lot like a fat Marshall in that regard. I had the presence at noon in that setup and it had plenty of cut and bite.

i haven't played with the channel volumes lately, but yes, if you set them high it's more liquid and low channel volume it's more a roar, i agree!

i changed pickups. the SH-13 is in again! the nazgul is also great, but in this guitar the Dimebucker just eats it for lunch!
more throat, mad thud, better squeals, clearer and more cutting highs! The nazgul has more mids, but this guitar already has plenty accoustically.

did make the A/B comparison on the VHX from modern to classic (VH4) and back again. The difference is huge, but i guess you can always get that with an EQ in the loop with your VH4.

It was a revelation to say the least haha seriously I’ve always heard the VH4 was dry AF but he was tweaking that thing into territories that made me question if the people who stated those opinions have even spent time with one.. Or if they just plugged in & went “nope” lol

BEFORE DOING ANY MODS- yes I’m yelling…😂 @techdeath give them your settings on the gate & boost.. (if you don’t mind) that’s the sauce man
100% It was fine without the chain but as soon as he engaged the gate & boost it took that amp to a whole different level.. It had more bounce than my JTR 18” subs lol I’m sure the mods are fine but that would be last resort to make it more preferable imo.

I’m not against the mods . I’d try it for sure . I have friends who want even try one at all that have tried everything .

I can't. I'm already happy when i manage to get the Amp biased. Where do i have to put the Multimeter again on a 2203x? Don't know if you are familar with them, but they have an extra resistor on the Powertubes to get a Ma reading which translates to Ma, but i just forgot where to put the Multimeter-Pins. :D

I’m definitely not against them, one of my Framus Dragons is modded & it sounds amazing! 😄 I would just suggest taking the time to dial it in & get your pedals set right before tightening up the circuitry.. Thinking about having @glp80 mod my 5150.. he did some gnarly shit to his & it sounds massive 😍

-I’m not really sure how intrusive this vh4 mod is if it’s something simple & reversible I’d give it a go.. but if you’re playing Dr. Nick off the Simpsons I’d be puckered up..
