What color pickups will compliment this guitar?

I want to get rid of these damned X2Ns in this guitar. I don't know if it's the pickups that suck or these decorative burl pickup covers that make them sound like shit, but I really hate these pickups. They sound ok on my Katana in short bursts, but on a real amp, they are crap.

Anyways, I am having trouble deciding what color of DiMarzios. Do I go dubbel kreems like on my LP, or do I do zebra for a lil bit of dubbel kreem flavor? Would plain ol' black bobbins look best? Maybe some slick purple ones since the fretboard is supposed to be purpleheart (though it's dull ass brown now)? Black covers may not look bad, but that may be TOO much dark tones. Chrome/nickel wouldn't work, though, because of the hardware. I'm torn.

The purple ones look sick IMO. I had super distortion with the gold pole pieces that I put a gold open face cover on. Every woman at the blues jam wanted me and every dude at the jam wanted to be me.
