What compressors are you using

I use a Boss CS-3 for leads only. I don't like using it for rhythm.

For guitar I use a Barber Tone Press. I don't use it a lot though. I like it for adding sustain when playing clean or low gain at low volumes.

For Bass, I use a Diamond Bass comp. The Diamond bass comp is just a tweaked diamond comp and sounds great for guitar. I usually leave the Diamond on all the time when playing bass, I love what it does to the tone, its subtle but there.

I believe it's a MXR Super Comp. Nice.

Why wouldn't you use a compressor? I don't get it. It can be very useful at times.

None. I spend lots of money to avoid compressing guitar tone.

Which are you using?

When I actually had amps and effects ( just have guitars now but that will change soon hopefully) I used a DBX 266XL rack compressor/gate. I used one side for compression and one side for the gate.

Pigtronix Philosopher's Tone and a MXR Dyna Comp 1974 reissue.

Both kick major ass. The Pigtronix is a bit noisy though. The MXR is transparent and heavenly.

I use my Tone Press for cleans, and i also like to use it on my medium gain setting to give it a real singing lead type vibe to it and it works out great. Don't use compression on high gain.

Mad Professor.

I just spent months trying compressors.. borrowed everyone I could get my hands on.
Analogman Juicer, Bi Comp, Boss CS2 ( beautiful but noisy ) , Demeter, Barber, Keeley, Wampler.

I liked the Mad Prof best of the lot.

Diamond Compressor. One of the best things I ever did for my cleans. I also hipped my bassist onto the Diamond Bass Compressor which sounds great as well.

Empress compressor here. I use it when in studio and using my pedal board.
