What do you consider the essential pedals?

When you guys talk about the Koko boost are you talking about the smaller reloaded version or the original two switch?

I'm assuming original. The reloaded are always for sale used :p

I want to try one.

For me it's just a noise gate. I have some EQs,but only use them if needed. I like to taste the amps flavor without boosts or EQ. Just a gate to tame unwanted feedback and preamp hiss.

For me the 2 button original! Just perfect IMO!

Some kind of modulation. I'm a chorus/flanger fanatic, but honestly I could gig with just one pedal in front of the amp.

I wouldn't say any are essential. But if I had to pick I'd say tuner, wah, and eq in the loop. The EQ is for solo boost so if it had a second master not needed.

Decimator and TS style OD. Cusack Screamer at the moment.

Pretty much this. Anything else is pretty ancillary.

A boss DD-2 or DD-3 is simple and fairly cheap and sound really good. Can pick them up on the cheap if you keep an eye out.

Seems like most people say Tuner, Gate, OD and Delay. For myself, at the moment it is just the OD because I do not have a gate or a tuner :p. I do plan to get those and I suppose the best thing to do is buy a Koko Boost to start testing OD pedals.

I love the Maxon but after hearing the TS9 with my amp and getting better results than the TS9 in other amps I have tried, I feel I need to be sure I have the best OD for my situation. I really wanted to focus on the clean tone and look at delay/verb/comp but with the amount of cleans that I actually will record or play live it just does not make sense right now. I really do want the Keeley Caverns for a cool toy when I get the extra cash but for now, Tuner, OD, Gate.
