Seriously. I have a custom slightly modded rat coming in to be demo's. What do you use yours for?

Paper weight on my desk.

thanks guys. it looks like my rat clone went missing because of USPS. there will be clips within 24 hours of its arrival. whenever the hell that is.

I liked the one I had enough to put an LED in it and tweek the Filter control but I hated that it was a whole nuther power supply connection. I let either a bass player or a guitar player borrow it and adios amigo. Apparently bass players like them too.

well this one is a clone with the standard power supply, so thats a good thing to know.

There have been many versions but the originals had no LED and a positive tip supply IIRC with a different plug. And the Filter worked in reverse like a Cut control. I think they fixed those oddities in other versions.

Mine is tweaked clone w/LED and I am pretty sure it has a standard power suoply, when USPS finds it and it gets here, videos will be up within 24 hours.

Left it in the store. Never cared for the pedal. Much prefer an 80s SD1.

I love my RAT clone, but also dig the look of the black ProCo housing. btw... Retro-Sonic has just released a new version of their RAT clone. It has an extra "Ratiness" control, but I don't know what it does? Price is right, and it uses a LM308 chip.

Probably a Ruetz knob.

Yeah I've used a RAT for bass too. Sounds pretty good but a lot of low end gets cut out. Turbo Rat maintained more bass I think but just didn't have as sweet a sound. I prefer other pedals for bass overdrive. The OCD is a great one but I didn't really like it with a guitar...

I didn't know what this was? Thanks!

Got it in the mail today. Pics and demos will be up tonight or tomorrow

here is a the rat clone through a splawn supersport. raunchy as FUCK!

RAT or OCD is usually what I use. Gain low with output unity gain or slight boost.
Depend on the amp I might use very different settings. But this the most typical.
I usually don't use a clean amp with these type of pedals.

What did you think about the clips?

 The RAT circuit isn't meant to be used this way. I mean, you can... but, you're not going to get the goods. I'll try to put something together with my VOX and Ampeg rigs. I have a Silver Jube as well, but I'd never consider plugging a RAT into it.

I will give it a go in another rig. Lol.

I am going for higher gain amp wise. Unity volume and a little dirt.

This is an AC30 boosted by a RAT. If you don't like the 8-string riffing, skip towards the end where there's some brief chugging on the low E and low B strings.

Like I said, I purchased a RAT back in the early 90's and hated it. It sounds like blocking distortion through my Soldano. It wasn't until recently that I purchased the hand-wired RATPAK clone. Seeing as how I don't have an actual RAT, I cannot do a comparison. I reviewed a number of RAT clips on YT this evening, and they all have that same blocking distortion sound that I remember from the early 90's. I don't know if it's because of the amp these people are playing through, or does my clone sound different from a typical RAT? :dunno:
