Mine is from The Nine Black Riders - The Servants of Sauron from The Lord of the Rings. It's my fave book. I read it about 10 times before any of the movies were made.

I've used Mudder for every forum I've been on. I started on a golfing forum, which I still visit, and picked it because if I want to get any real playing time in during the year here in Oregon, I'm going to have to play in the wet and mud. I use it at all the different forums because a. it's a bit rare, only on HC did I have to add a couple numbers and b. I'm sort of lazy and don't like having to remember a bunch of different names for leisure pursuits.

I've also been called "Chris" and that will typically get a favorable response.

mine means AmpliFIRE

LOL...actually I've seen people misspell Amplifier this way and it always made me laugh

Combine my love of mob movies and competition barbeque and...

My real name is Mike, and most variations of it are already taken on forums. Packrat was a nickname of mine since grade school, but it and variations of it are usually taken too. :gethim: So I just picked ratter on a forum one day (probably HC) and used it on forums ever since. It has nothing to do with RATT (never owned a RATT album), rats, rat terriers, or anything like that.

My band Ultramunx often uses what I call ultra-speak......which is basically me just using "mega", "super" or "ultra" in front of regular things, like peoples' names and stuff. (very dorky super-hero sounding stuff).
Putting Ultra in front of my own name seemed perfect for this sort of place.

A friend showed up from Las Veages two nights before it.....

A Czar was a Siberian Soldier in the early 1900's. They were ruthless and generally all around bad asses...and I misspelled it (Szar). :D

Skoora The Gentle Shark from Kids In The Hall.

"He's Skoora, Skoora, Skoora the Gentle Shark.
Skoora, Skoora, the killer with the broken heart.
Don't blame him -- he blames himself!
Don't hate him -- he hates himself!
Because he's Skoora, Skoora, Skoora the Gentle Shark!"

It's Latin for twelve. I've used December as a user name in the past, because it's neutral, non-political, rather international, and well, I like winter and I'm born on 12 December (12/12). But December is often taken, so I went for Duodecim.

I'm not completely faithful to it though, on forums and websites with people I know or have to meet face to face, I tend to use my real name, initials or any variant thereof.

I like my privacy though, I don't want people (future employers?) to hold me to some quirky emotional statement I made in the heat of the moment 10 years ago, turning up in a search from some cache on the internet; and I'm even less interested in nutters showing up on my doorstep.

I found a concert bootleg of Tool playing a song with a bassist named Scott Reeder from the band Kyuss. And they played a Kyuss song called Demoncleaner which I thought was totally bad ass.
