yeah things fucked up...I never got into nut sack swinging and I too sat by and watched the all the crap go down. A few good guys did jump ship long ago...my post count reflects this even though I was here since the beginning :aww:

the point is, if you want to rebuild the energy and good vibes this place once had, you're going to have to put in the work. Many people gave up because of all the smart asses, or trolls, or fucking know it alls, that KNOW nothing. Bedroom wankers with strong opinions.

There was a real DEPTH of guys with REAL knowledge here, now it a pale imitation of that. But you ARE one of those guys, don't give up on it if you want to revive that vibe.

I have learned a lot about gear on this forum, and sometimes there is a glimmer of what it once was, but as you probably know change, is the only constant. Gotta grow with the times.

Maybe you can get some of these youngsters and smartasses to learn something and get that groove back. Or maybe not, and fuckem,just use the classifieds like so many do and ignore the people who can't seem to find the search button OVER AND OVER. For fucks sake, use the SEARCH button.

Let's not forget how guys like Don Rickels came in all the time to troll all the folks singing karaoke when it just wasn't cool anymore. Then the exclusive artist list that were the only artists that people could sings songs from or they were ridiculed unmercifully.
 
I get what you mean about the change of the forum but I have a hard time being all that concerned as I have a life, and not being on the forum won't curtail my ability to play and enjoy music. There a lot of people who don't necessarily miss the old days either, as it honestly was just as clicky back then, where certain people would post a vid of their latest noodle and there would be 4-5 pages of back slapping and congratulations that to some could be seen, just as annoying and VIP wannabe as the tools who lined up to drink Jefe's bath water. It's all just different perception.

Considering my best years of being a musician and being in bands was before I knew forums existed, it really doesn't matter. It just beats TV sometimes. If someone posts a cool thread about gear or lays down a tasty clip/vid, awesome. If posts turn into monkeys throwing shit at each other, so bad so sad, cut to another forum and return later to see if anything new has graced the front page.
 
This place is all I've got. I long for the old days when the beer flowed like wine.
