I would prefer that no family members be insulted or brought into anything. as far as a rule, there is no rule that I'm aware of. I usually defer to whatever Nik says on questions like this. I'm to A.D.D. to look this shit up. However while not a fan of this internecine bickering the O.T. is the wild wild west after all. Always remember..."DON'T START NO SHIT-WON'T BE NO SHIT..."

It's off-limits if you say it is. More work for the mods, but if you want family names removed, I've always been happy to do it.

Why no rule? Well, there's a huge grey area between innocent chatter and outright offence, so there's that. Much-simpler IMHO to leave it up to the individual and do the manual-removal thing upon-request.

Not arguing just giving an alternate perspective. Rig Talk has had an influx of new members lately and most have
been exposed to the worst of this place right off the bat. Considering most here are guys, and based on the age group
poll, have wives/partners and/or kids, it's safe to assume they will NEVER EVER bring them up here for obvious reasons.

First gear forum I've been on where you have to literally be afraid to expose a single personal thing about yourself
because of the clique of tasteless old guard that will attack as vulgar as possible with every tool available at the first
hint of a disagreement.

THAT is not a good look for the forum for those just joining.
