I'm actually getting a Pro Stock, single channel QR, and I play through OS 2x12's mostly. I have a diagonal with a convertible top back panel on the way.

I'm looking at Creambacks M's and H's. I also have a Hellatone 60L (darker V30) and K-100.

Was thinking of 2 CBack M's or CBack H/HL V30 or CBack H/K-100.

I understand the newer QR's (2012+$ take V30's better than older ones.

Looking for experiences with any of these.

I use the Creamback 65's. I am on a 2013 Quick Rod with the Low B+ option.

I'd ride those v30s. But I am not impressed with the creambacks...just my opinion. Haven't tried them up close and personal, but the clips, based on them, do not impress me. way too much high end roll off. but if that's your thing, then by all means.

I posted a clip this morning of my Quick Rod using the Creamback loaded Splawn 2x12's.

The first part is straight amp, cab, guitar. Then I added a few OD's to boost ('93 RAT and Monsterpiece COD)

I've been speaker swapping lately as well in my splawn 4x12.

Currently traded away the smallblocks...have 2 governors in it at the moment...awaiting some more speakers. Have 2 manowars coming, 2 more governors coming, and a buddy just gave me a new V30 he has laying in his garage. New soldering iron is ready.

Glad this thread came up, but i'm not sure if I will decide all governors, or x pattern gov/manowar. But the smallblocks weren't for me.

Hmmmm... This is not going to be an easy decision.

I also own a Scumback BH75 and H55. The BH75 is real agressive; it can crunch up a bit in high gain settings. I like some speaker flavor but not too much at high volume and high gain. Maybe I have too much preamp gain in my other amps.

You are loaded then...A lot to try between the scum backs and celestions.

Necro-bump alert. What did you end up going with? I have a Mesa cab with Governors and it sounds great with the QR, My Splawn cab I have Small blocks and it doesn't have the edge that the Governors have. I'm thinking of going all Governors or maybe something else in the Splawn cab.

Mine sounds absolutely killer with Vintage 30's in my Hermida ported 2x12 cab.

I have Creamback H75s and V30s in my Splawn 412. Sounds incredible. I have a QR with KT88s and the B+/Standard switch. I play mostly in the standard rather than B+.

i have 2 splawn 4x12s, one with all v30s and one with v30/cream65 in x pattern. the v30/cream65 sounds good but those cream65s have NO cut to them. do you have your cream75/v30s in X pattern or top/bottom. I really want to swap my cream 65s for the cream75s. i didn't like the cream65/v30 in top/bottom because there was even less cut like that because i was hearing more of the cream65s..

I have the creamH75s in X pattern with v30s. Definitely a lot more cut and snarl to it compared to my Friedman cab with greenbacks on top of v30s. I'm thinking about swapping the greenbacks for more creamH75s. I've never been a fan of greenbacks for some reason. I've always preferred H magnet speakers.

Cool, I'm gonna try that combo. I also have a Friedman cab which I love with my JJ.

Right now I have the Celestion K100 and Creamback M65. I think it's working, but our jam room is weird sometimes. Sounded great at first, and I was less impressed last jam session.

I think I'm going to try the H75/M65 Creamback Combo. I find a V30/H75 can be a little too strident.

I had some governors in a cab I got and I was surprised how much I liked them. at the time I used them with an Elmwood m90. they worked good with it. but now, I have the celestion g12h30 70th anniv's and I love those. great, great speakers!!

I have an older 3 pre Quick Rod and play it through a Splawn cab with governor/man-o-war x pattern. I think it sounds great. I also use a marshall cab with v30s that I didn't like the harshness of at first but after the speakers broke in I really dig it. My personal fav is actually a Fender cab loaded with the eminence texas heats. The Dimebag speakers. Those things smoke with the Splawn. Kick ass speakers I never hear about. Might try looking into those.

I like Eminence Wizards with mine.

I concur. The band I tech for uses a QR and I turned him on to the Wizards. Sounds killer in the OS2x12. I've gigged it with Lynchbacks once before and thought it sounded good, too. YMMV

I have an older QR that I use with a Splawn 4x12 with Emminence Red Coats and Guv'nors in an x pattern and it works very well for me.
