I've been through a load, was down a whole tone (usually in Drop-C), at one point with 12-56, but gradually lightened up, then went back up a semitone still on 10-52s, then got lighter strings again, so now back to 10-46 (usually Drop Db). I've got a few packs of 12-56 kicking around still so I might string something up with them for fun at some point, but it whammy's nicer with the 10-46. Ideally I think I might like some kinda 10.25 to 48.
I've been through a good selection of brands. Current set are the DR Dimebag signatures, which I've been really pleased with and still sound good after AGES (although I haven't been gigging). I'm figuring they are probably due a change, so the Kerlys I have here are going on next again, but I'll definitely bag some more of these DR Dimebags again in my next order.
10-52 in Eb on everything unless I have to go to A440 for something. But the string gauge stays the same regardless.... Basses is 105-45 across the board for Eb/standard. I use D'Addario exclusively.
10-46 for E/Eb on Agile LP copy
13-62 (with the wound 3rd switched from .026 to .022) for B standard w/Ibanez Prestige
D'addario is charging too much for the 13-62 set, which is basically a 10-46 set with the .010 thrown out and a .062 used for the lowest string. Not worth the $9 when I'd be just as happy with cheapo Ernie Ball 10's and a few 3-packs of .062's & .022's.
