Hey guys I just cropped this pic of my parts caster. It's a Squier Strat body (I got it off the guy that does the setups on my guitars), he said he doesn't know what kind of wood the body is made of though I will say it's extremely light! He said it may be Basswood? Anyway, the neck I had bought off Ebay from TNT Custom Guitars: http://www.guitarpartsonline.com/Jackson-Style_c121.htm Jackson Style Maple Neck & fretboard, 22 Fret, Floyd Rose Nut and 6 inline Black Grover tuning machines. Then the bridge I had bought off Ebay is a Made In Mexico Fender tremolo but I had the tremolo setup on the guitar so it wouldn't move at all cause I really don't use trems at the moment. The mirrod pickguard I got off Ebay and the single Seymour Duncan TB-4 JB Trembucker and my guitar guy wired it to an Alpha push/pull volume pot and set it up for drop B tuning.

I haven't really used this guitar in a while because, for one, it just doesn't stay in tune and it just doesn't sound right... If you look at my other threads I'm looking to go from active EMG's to passive Seymour Duncan's in my Charvel model 5fx tuned to drop B. What I just thought of was having my guitar guy take the SD TB-4 out of the parts caster and put it in the bridge of my Charvel along with a SD SSL-4 Quarter Pound Flat for the slant single coil neck position, still setup in drop B only change the string guage and try this set of D'addairo .011-.056 guage strings. I've then thought about just selling the Body of the parts caster and getting a different body for the Jackson style neck, seeing as it already has a Floyd Rose locking nut on it I have the Gold Original Floyd Rose tremolo that was originally on my Charvel when I got it years ago.. Maybe get a Jackson DXMG body that is already routed from the factory for a Floyd Rose temolo and 2 humbucker slots and have him put the Jackson style neck on it along with new SD pickups, etc. What do you guys think? Sorry for the long winded post!!

I talked to my guitar guy yesterday and he said because the Jackson style neck that is currently on my parts caster is a 22 fret not 24 fret that it might not be 25.5" scale length on a Jackson DKMG body which he said he thinks came with 24 fret necks? What do you guys think?

Pull that neck off and put a standard, straight pull (standard Stratocaster headstock) on there with locking tuners.
It'll look at a lot cooler and stay in tune better.

I was thinking about that too, finding a standard, straight pull (standard Stratocaster headstock) with locking tuners and use the TNT custom guitars 22-fret Jackson style neck with Floyd Rose Nut on a Jackson DKMG/DXMG or Soloist body that's already routed for a Floyd Rose. I have my gold Original Floyd Rose that was on my Charvel when I got it years ago, a friend of mine had swapped it out for a black Original Floyd Rose that came off an 80's Kramer and put the black one on my Charvel to match the factory black hardware.

There is someone locally that has two necks for sale, one is a Squier SE neck with the Squier sanded off and the tuner bushings missing, and the other neck is an Alvarez in decent shape that could use a good cleaning. He want $30 for the Squier, $20 for the Alvarez $40 for the two necks. Both are 21-Fret Rosewood fretboards from what I see in the pic. I got an error message on here saying: Sorry, the board attachment quota has been reached so I can't attach the pics of my gold OFR or the 2 necks for sale locally?

Hey there :) sorry to resurrect and old thread but the Squier Strat necks do those have a straight pull like you were talking about? Some time here soon, I'm going to just get a Squier Strat neck with Rosewood fretboard and locking tuners... Is there just one series of Squier Strat necks or what? The TNT Jackson Style neck that will come off the Squier Strat body I've been reading around to see what Charvel or Jackson bodies it will fit. I still have the original gold finish floyd rose tremolo that came off my Charvel model 5fx some years ago too.
