I've got a slightly used Celestion G12K-100 that I want to mix in an OS 2x12 1/3 open back (semi-open back) oriented vertically. I play blues - hard rock, some old school metal (Metallica/Pantera).

I've got the following speakers to mix with it and wondering which should go on top and which on bottom:

-Hellatone 60L
-Scumback Blackback H75
-Scumback H55
-WGS Reaper 50

Thoughts based on experiences with any of these speakers?

Cheers!

The G12K-100 is one of my favorite speakers. I'd mix it with something bright and aggressive.

I'd say my brightest and most aggressive are the Hellatone 60L and Scumback BH75. The BH75 is the brightest I have.

The last cab I had with them was quite a bit darker and warmer than my Recto cab with V30's. Similar cab size and construction.

This is good info. I have bright, middy to mid-heavy amps. This is also why I want to pair it with a brighter and middy speaker. My current #1 vertical OS semi-oepn back cab has a Scumback H55 on top and a WGS Reaper HP on bottom. It sounds good, but has too much "speaker flavor" and my amps are pretty high-gain (Eggie Seminar modded by BFG and EVH 5153), so I want something that handles high-gain and high power well as we play loud.
