I've been dabbling and enjoying using different vst's and cab impulses. A lot of the stuff I come across is outdated and not found, especially with the cab impulses

Anyone have any links/recommendations?

Looking for ultra brutal tones without having to wake the family at night so no amp suggestions please :)

Sweet!! 1960A from redwirez sounds useful and the 2 notes description sounds amazing. Will deinitely be checking these out.

There is a huge amp sim list on Andy Sneap forums, I have to retry some of those.

I was using run instead of save as and that may be the reason why I could not get most of them to work.

Im pretty new at the vst world, always preferred micing a real amp/cab but I need some quick go to's for nite time fun...

Recently got me some redwirez impulses and those have been the best Ive found so far. What kinda VSTs are you interested in? Ampsims, I use Legion pretty much exclusively, and then I've got a BUNCH of stuff I found online, plus some REALLY nice stuff that I use a lot that came with my scarlett 2i2.

This seems like a great device. Are you guys using this live, or just for recordings?

I use mine primarily for recording. I do have a Bogner 4x12 sitting right beside it - hard to tell the difference between that and the Bogner sim on the Torpedo when you A/B them aside from the loudness factor.

Amazing device! I absolutely love mine! I use it both for live work and in the studio. Depending upon the size of the gig, I bring my 2x12 with me as needed. If there are FOH monitors, I don't need it with this unit. Best purchase I have made in a very long time. After having a Kemper for 8 months, I have found with my recent studio work that the cab models on this unit are far superior to what I was hearing on the Kemper.

BTW, you can load any impulses you like into the Live/C.A.B. and they handle all the processing so your PCs CPU doesn't have to be bogged down with that.

Cool. Good to know. I've been using a Bogner 4x12 for recording, but I dont like hauling it to gigs.

LIVE live here :D

Pretty close to a real cab? Does it actually get that sound that a 4x12 has when it's really pushing some air?

I'm going to tell you yes. But I will qualify that with I'm using a $3k wedge. It can push some air  I have a 2nd one if I really wanted it (bought for stereo which I no longer run) but I've never used 2 mono - no need.

(and one of the points for me was to not move as much air to clean up stage volume :) )

Lately I really like the Kalthallen impulses. And amazingly, it's donation ware!

http://cabs.kalthallen.de/

I own several of the others but have found some of my favorite sounding cabs in this set. For an IR VST I like the one from Redwirez, mixIR. Makes it easy to use any IR file out there.

The Two Notes WoS plugin has a great interface. Move the mic around, etc. But for some reason I'm having a hard time dialing in a good sound with it. It sounds muffled or bright for most settings that I've tried. So I went back to using individual IR files. But others here seem to be having great luck using it. :dunno:

Finally got around to using these last night, very nice!!

Im still sold on the God cab however. Sounds amazing. Im still experimenting but I came up with a God's Cab/Kalthallen mix that sounded pretty good.
