A bit after Kiss went disco, I ended up flinging all my Kiss records out of my second story apartment like frisbees at cars driving by. I was definitely a punk back then and deserved to lose the cooler older albums.
I think that was the one I had on 8-track, too, and I hated it because the 8-track player was messed up and I couldn't get it to stop playing multiple songs at the same time.
Technically I bought 3 that day, Van Halen 1984, Def Leppard Pyromania, and Motley Crue Shout at the Devil (all on vinyl), but I first listened to 1984 so I guess that is my first official record.

I originally answered Quiet Riot's Metal Health, as this was the first album I BOUGHT.
The first rock album I ever heard was Queen, The Game. It was on Vinyl (I now have it). I was very young, probably around 5. I would constantly play this album and The Chipmunks Christmas, over and over again.
