What would you pair with a Redback in a 2x12?

Picked up a pair of Redbacks. Sounds pretty good together especially for not being broken in yet. I'm interested in trying to pair it with another celestion and was curious if anyone tried it with good results? I'm thinking maybe RB & V30 or RB & T75? Feel free to chime in, thanks!
 
If you consider other brands, have a look at the Jensen Nighthawk. I dunno it it would pair well, but I'm going to try it out with a V30 soon...
 
What is cab ?
I have good result with V30 top and RB bottom in Fatbottom 4x12. Redbacks are quite neutral but with classic Celestion voicing so imho they can be mixed with all Celestions.
 
Love the RB. A lot. I paired it with a Creamback H75 for a bit. I’m just not a fan of the CB H75. It’s too sizzly and bright for my tastes. I’d pair the RB with a speaker thats got strong/forward mids. I’d imagine a V30 would pair very well. It’d be a monstrous sound, I would think.

I almost went that route, but ended up with the Creamback 75 instead of the 90. I thought the 90 sounded alot darker to me in the clips. Ultimately, I ended up with going with all 75s in a single cab.
 
Thanks for all the suggestions guys. I was pairing up all the 16 ohm speakers I had lying around with the Redback over the weekend. Tried it with a T75, Celestion Neo Heritage, V30, another redback and a Lead 80. I ended up liking it with a V30 the best. it seemed to have the best highs and lows when paired together. Runner up was the T75 which also sounded pretty good with the RB.

After reading your suggestion, I think I am interested in picking up a alinco cream 90 now. I checked some vids on youtube and liked what I heard.

You know I don't have much experience outside the celestion speaker world but I think I am willing to try. I'll look up the Jensen Nighthawks, thanks!

Its a Randall MTS 212NXT cab. It came with those celestion neo heritage speakers in it. The cab itself aint too shabby, 7 ply birch, stereo/mono and mic emulation built in. And the V30 RB mix is better than I thought it would be. Going to crank it up this weekend and see how it does in a band mix.

I'm digging the redback. Two RB in the 2x12 worked pretty good too but I wanted a bit more mids and highs. So far so good. Though I will say I liked the T75 RB mix too. Kinda had a scooped effect that reminded me of Among the Living era Anthrax. Will test that out in a band mix next week.

I watched some Hop Pole studios vids today and I thought the 90 sounded real good and bright especially in comparison to a red back. Before picking up redbacks I was going to get creamback 75s but opt'ed for the higher wattage. Kinda wish I picked up one of each now.

I haven’t tried the Nighthawk, but I just paired in my Kerry Wright 412 V30’s with Jensen Electric Lightning’s (which have similar power to the Nighthawk and also in their jet series line) and so far they sound great to me. I had H75 creambacks paired with the V30’s in it before and so far I prefer these Jensen Electric Lightning’s.

The H75’s sounded brighter and harder yet smoother (less growly or throaty). The Jensen’s in comparison sound much more balanced with the V30’s and have a lot more warmth (even with the H75’s being broken in while the Jensen’s are brand new) and more growl and way nicer clean tones. My cab also seems to sound louder with these Jensen’s than when it had the H75’s in it. I did like though that the H75’s sounded tighter and more defined

I got another pair of Jensen C12N’s I’m gonna put in another cab. So far I’m really liking Jensen’s. I got also an old 1953 Gibson GA-40 combo with a brand new Jensen P12Q in it and it also sounds great. Jensen’s seem to be overlooked these days
 
I would ask Mr. Scumback or look into the right Weber.

I have a few Weber speakers and they kick some serious ass.

I have never tried a redback though tbh.
 
I have a Redback and a H75 Creamback loaded in my Recto 2x12. Paired with a 6505, Rectifier and a Mark V it sounds solid! I've heard V30's are also a great pairing.

Hey! Old post but I am about to do Redback and K100 in one 212.
My other 212 I was going to do Redback/CL80, until I saw your post.
What's the Alnico 90? Is that WGS or Celestion? I'll research it.

Agreed. I’ve got a Suhr 212 loaded with H75s and I’ve been looking to pair something else with one of them but may just replace both.
 
I'll add to an old thread; my favorite mix is the redback with an EVM12L. It's an odd combo maybe but I think it sounds great. The Celestion gives some clean, some Celestion sound (crunch or whatever the sound would be described as) while the EVM does what it does. They punch and are louder than I think anyone could ever need probably. I had redbacks with other redbacks, V30's, 75's, Manowar's, CV75's and random others and liked them all pretty much but my favorite has been with the EVM. Would like to try one with an alnico cream sometime.
