MXR Smart Gate is my choice!
I'm actually the opposite, ISP in front and NS-2 in loop (of noisier amps only)rottingcorpse":3b08p6wo said:ns-2 in front. isp decimator in the loop of any amp without a built in gate.
note....the gate on the fbm needs to be in every amp ever built from now on. far and away the best gate for metal i have ever used. i did the big rack thing in the 90's with all high end comps/limit/gates crap. (already spent enough time in studio in the 80's to have a clue) tried them all every way you can think of. right now, the feel i get from the fbm gate is almost like it's ahead of the ns-2 in the signal chain. almost a push/pull from the ns-2 to the fbm gate and back. i know that sounds crazy, but it's the wildest thing....on the quietest amp ever.
+ me too. It was a godsend at some noisey gigs, esp with single coil pickups.MrDan666":3g4sh9p1 said:MXR Smart Gate is my choice!
What am I seeing in your sig?ericsabbath":3qdhmjwr said:rocktron reaction hush
costs half of the isp and works just as well
for the price of the decimator, you could have a rocktron guitar silencer, which includes the hush reduction AND the guitar silencer gate AND a loop

+1 for the NS-2. While probably not as sexy as the ISP, I have had nothing but good luck with my NS-2.
