whats the best new high gain head youve heard

nothing against the DAR dudes and originality. but, i will check back in a few years to see if they are still around......

from an engineering standpoint they have not only gone the originality way but have patent filings to prove it. i dont think a company would spend that kind of money if they didnt plan on staying for a while. we're talking $20,000 said and done for a single patent and there are multiple ones they are filing. on top of it all they are all ex-military trained electrical engineers, and as an aspiring/rising engineer myself its insane to see the shit they have came up with here. on the technical side they have designed this to the best of their abilities and it shows. i dont even think theres any transformers on the power amp side, and i know the impedance outputs of those tubes are low enough you dont even need an output/isolation transformer.

its so well engineered, it wouldnt matter whether they disappeared at all. the damn thing will last for ages. i cant even begin to fathom designing something like this, i tried once and the theory they know to do it is mind boggling

Ya, when things get a little more available, DAR is on my radar. They sound incredible on the clips, and I know Ola is rocking them hard - and with his playing, they sound f*ckin' righteous.

For now I'll happily hole up with my incoming Hagen and see what I can master out of that box o' goodies
