Hey guys 357 Choppers is back in Biz. Who wants to get in on a group buy?
Oh man, I forgot about that.

I had to flip my early build Single Rec on the quick before moving across the country. Only got like $400 for it so something. I miss that amp so much.

Best deal was a $180 for a 1973 silverface, pre-master volume Fender Super Reverb. Honorable mention, $175 for a 1960B cab loaded with the original G12-65s.

Worst, $1500 for a counterfeit Les Paul. It was many years ago before there was quite so much info out on the fakes. It's a decent guitar and looks stunning, but this one still stings a bit no matter how long it's been since it happened or how decent a copy it is. Short of taking a belt sander to the logo first, I'll probably never get rid of it though. I'd hate to see someone else get burned as it's still a very good fake.

Best. 1973 Fender Strat in Olympic White faded to Yngwie yellow for $80.

Worst, paid $160 for a new Bare Knuckle pickup and struggled to sell it a few days later for $100. Never again.

Best: bought a 58 slab board strat for $600. Sold it for 6K!

Worst: Sold #55 Bogner 100 year later the guys asks if I want it back. I said yes. Sent him $1250 to hold...never heard or saw the amp from again....Kim Coffey was his name if that was his name

Best: Was given a non-working early 70's super lead for free.

Worst: Never diagnosed that 70's super lead and sold it to a shop for $100.

In my defense, this was many years ago.

Worst - Selling my 50 watt Marshall Silver Jubilee head for $75 when I was broke and partying too much, or when I sold my Boss CE1 chorus/vibrato pedal for $10 in the late 90's. I had no idea at the time that vintage pedals had skyrocketed in price. I realized I had been had when I came back in the store and saw it in a glass case selling for $400.

Best - Getting the Fender custom shop sunburst relic Strat in this video for $2200 off Lincoln Brewster when he was unloading some gear on Ebay. I love this guitar and have no intention of selling it though I have had offers from Brewster fans.

WOW!!!! that strat sounds great!!
I agree, and the craziest part is that he is running through some Line 6 gear, a POD X3 Live. The sunburst Strat I now own is in this video here and Brewster also shows his Line 6 gear. The video is from 2008. Brewster has been using the AxeFX and Kemper more recently for touring and recording, but I think he very recently switched over to the Line 6 Helix.

In 2005 I got a new Mesa Mark IV and 2x12 Vertical Cabinet at Guitar Center for $1249. Mark IV's were still in production and at the time I believe they were $1749 new and the cabs were $540. Still don't know why they had that special on these 2 particular items but the guy was literally putting the price card on it near the front of the store when I walked in. I stopped him and send "I'll take it".

that's a bummer man, sorry to hear that.

Best: 90's ESP MII for $200 at Guitar Center. Brand new EBMM BFR Petrucci quilt top for $1600, also at GC. Brand new Mesa Roadster on clearance for $1000, again at GC. 80's ESP Mirage Deluxe on here for $450.

Worst: Traded the ESP MII for a Prestige 8 string that took me 7 months to sell. I came out making money, but I shouldn't have got rid of that guitar. PRS Custom 24 Floyd. I got it brand new from Sweetwater and have had nothing but buzzing problems with it. By far my most expensive piece of gear. $2k more than the Petrucci I scored.

Randall RM100 with matching v30 cab and road case, $500. Got a heads up from a friend they had this at Sam Ash. I went up to check it out, and the amp powered up, but wouldn't make a sound. $70 repair.

Best: Have a PRS CU24 passed down to me from my uncle. Not really a deal, but the best it's gotten.

Worst: Sold a Gibson Faded Explorer for around $500-600ish, got a $400 speeding ticket on the way back.

Back in Oct of last year, Bryan on the board here sold me a mint 2001 Bogner XTC. Absolutely love the amp. I wanted one of these for years and he worked out an outstanding deal, not to mention, he is a super guy to deal with packed it perfectly and safety!

Got the Bogner 212CB from a gent name Matt on TGP and he also gave me a killer deal on it. Cab was in great shape when it got to me and was also packed very well.

Just scored a Henning 4x12 from guitar center for $380 loaded with g12h30 70th anniversaries, I'd say that's a pretty good one!

Scored a dsl 100 for 275 at an estate sale. The owner knew about the amp and what it was worth, but just wanted to get rid of the damn thing. I shat my pants

400 dollar speeding ticket? What were you in? The space shuttle?

Best: bought a digitech original whammy pedal for $70, sold for 450.

Worst: Bought some type of gold top Fender telecaster for 400, sold for 350.

I've had a lot of good deals very few bad ones, lost 50 here or there but more than made enough to cover all of my purchases and then some

so it's all good :)

On the parkway, usually 65mph, this was a stretch where it was 55mph. I was doing 85-90. Got hit with 30-35 over the limit, wreckless driving. Managed to talk it down in court so I wouldn't lose my license. Court fees and all that. Basically gave the guitar away

Best deals:
bought EVH Wolfgang USA from GC for $1100, sold back to different GC 2 months later for $1650

Bought PRE PRODUCTION PROTOTYPE Peavey Wolfgang from GC for $900! Sold for $2500- This one is also one of my worst deals and I wish I head kept it. This is a piece that was probably sold from the Peavey vault when Ed and Peavey parted ways and the story was most likely lost. It had popped up on GC's used site and just seeing the pic of the top I KNEW it was special. Bought it and did all the leg work, even got to talk to Jim Decola about it and turned out to be a pre pro protoype that appeared in the first printing of the Wolfgang manual...guy I sold it to flipped it to a collector for way more than I sold it to him for

bought Peavey Wolfgang custom shop off eBay within minutes of listing for $1700, sold to collector next day for $2800

bought Blackstar series one 6l6 from GC that was NOS from the daddy junky buy out for $600, sold it back to different GC next month for $1000
