The Axe-Fx killed Bin Laden....
I thought this was a given??

Clifford Chase was the Ops Chief for SEAL Team 6. He kept his sniper sim on, and worked with multiple shunted blocks. No brainer.

If I were to judge a person's character on whether they actually "got off" on something like this - 1000's of seething blokes on line, waiting the beck and call of Master Cliff, completely driven by maniacal meanderings - I'd say fuck off to the owner and move my shit elsewhere.

I already got reprimanded for this statement, LOL....
Woah! I can only imagine Scott Peterson killed a puppy after that comment towards his idol.

Cliff is an unbelievably amazing person....

http://www.g66.eu/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=977&Itemid=61

IN THE BEGINNING THERE WAS AN IDEA
When Cliff Chase created the Axe-Fx he was all alone and his surroundings were barren and empty. He was, by all accounts a very small fish in a large pool of hungry sharks when, back in 2002 and armed with a miniscule development budget, he decided to make his mark in the musical instrument business. With no connections, and no big brother to look after him, success or failure was purely down to him. At first he was hardly even noticed and at best considered a bit eccentric.

A START THAT KNOCKED SOCKS OFF
But what he came up with knocked users' socks off and blew the competition away. Cabinet simulations based on quick recordings in music shops and amp sims modeled entirely from circuit diagrams – this was par for the course at the beginning, but thanks to imaginative algorithms and powerful hardware they still sounded better than anything the modeling world had previously offered. In fact Fractal Audio's technological head start was so huge that rival companies were soon relegated to market gap-fillers. Innovation has always been the primary focus and driving force behind Fractal Audio, and thus the Ultra was presented in 2006 even before the first Standard models were available in Europe.

HUMBLE CONDITIONS
If someone can perform so magnificently in such humble conditions, what would he be able to do if the conditions were optimal? After all, a hydraulic excavator digging in soft ground generally makes bigger holes than a pick and shovel in stony ground...

OPTIMAL CONDITIONS
Meanwhile Fractal Audio has acquired all the things it was missing at the beginning: the technical possibilities, the development capital, the requisite infrastructure and a network of business partners. All this is now readily available. Countless enthusiastic users scattered across the globe and many of them regularly propose ideas for improvements. Thousands of inputs contribute to Cliff Chase's wealth of experience.

WHAT IF...?
What would happen if this person were to sit down again right now and develop something new? Now that the amps to be simulated can simply be bought and analyzed at leisure in a lab. With the technology of 2011 and all the experience gained over the years. In these new, optimal conditions. Is it not possible that something might come out of all this that exceeds even our wildest expectations?

Of course, it's just a hypothetical question... (to be continued...)

All that's left is to be resurrected.

Maybe that's what the countdown is for?

maybe a new axe fx with a touch screen, and a floorboard model, with a faster processor, more realistic cab sims, every amp model that is good, easier user interface, better cosmetics, will come out around december, and will sound even better than the real thing

Judging by these pics...

I just got back from gigging 2 nights in Bahrain. We won a battle of the bands thing the first night then opened for a touring band called the Boxtones the second night. One of the guitarists had a fucking Line 6 Spider 212 combo. And, I must say he was flicking through some amp models and presets that sounded sweet. I had my Cameron Aldrich and a Bogner 412 with me which totally vaporized the Spider, but I was really surprised at how good the models were in the Line 6 and without too much fuss.

Oh, I'm sure... But seriously, those cats need to loosen up a bit. For a laugh, see my retort:

Oh tu chez...

Marketing is also developed for drone bee masses to, subconsciously or consciously, feel the need to have something that prior to said marketing, never entered their thought processes.

Whatever, you may or may not come to realize I'm quite tongue in cheek - not your cheek sailor, don't get yer hopes up - but the fact is, I'm the kinda guy that doesn't watch sports on TV. Do you know why? Because the score will be the same whether I watch it or not.

Have a great night, lest we pontificate in unison on the eve cusp of the newly revered Fractal Audio eminence to be....and therefore grace us with its profound and royal essence.

Wouldn't really bug me either way. They're a bunch of worshipping zealots over there. Less musicians and more a nerdy chess club bunch. JUST a generalization - shit, I was a nerd (IT for 16 years), played chess competitively, and love the Axe. But they just need to loosen up a bit.

As for the Steve's comment about Clifford Chase, I dig the man. I don't know him, but I like him. I like the fact he digs worthy charities and I like the fact he's an animal rights activist. Right there, that alone, makes me like the guy. He can curse me for my dry sense of humour or the like, or getting up under the skirts of his devoted minions, but alas Clifford - I've purchased your beloved Ultra and I love it. And I'm buying even more shit to go with it because it really kicks ass. So all the "personality" aside, if the product works - and in this case it certainly does - I'm cool with it and will advocate it. But if egos and senses of entitlement get in the way, I'll mow that shit over in a NY second.

Peace to my BELOVED RT cats!!! I dig you guys...every damn one of yuz!!
Namaste,
V.

I hated that place. Everyone talked about how great the Fractal Forum was, but I found it to be ridiculous. If you wasn't a bat shit crazy fan boy, you were an outsider and this drew the ire of some posters. It appeared to me that people were afraid to post anything to try and help out. I got 10x more help through PMs than I got out in the forum. The people were great, the top tier of the hierarchy is a fucking joke....and it starts at the top.

I love my Axe and Love my Ernie Ball guitars. I just dont want to go near either forum for fear of becoming a Zombie.

THIS is VERY TRUE!!!! Of the camaraderie I've garnered over there, it's ALL been through cloak and dagger PMs. WTF!?!?!?!?!? :dunno:

Crazy. I mean, c'mon, most people know me here as a fairly straight up, no bullshit kinda guy - with a little bit of musical and equipment background (ahem). Hell I get over there and the next thing I know is I have the troops yelling at me about wiki this and yeks that and use the search function blah blah blah. Chrissakes people, you're the VERY KIND OF PEOPLE THAT MADE ME START PLAYING ANTI-ESTABLISHMENT ROCK AND ROLL IN THE FIRST PLACE!!!! And for the love of pete, I throw down when it comes to good gear - didn't bat an eye in buying the Ultra, won't bat an eye in buying the Wedges. Tom King was a great shit to talk to, super nice. But over there, it's like Kim Jong Il is the head of the forum and everyone just "obeys".

Nevertheless, I've poked a few good jabs over there just to loosen 'em up. I'm sure my 'secret alliances' will PM by the morning... Crazy.

Whatever.

Peace,
V.

You got reprimanded because you hit too close to home. You are lucky Cliff didn't tell you to sell your Axe.... his been known to do that to people who dare to say anything negative about the AxeFX.

I hope it's some kind tube amp version of the AxeFX. That would be worth hours of entertainment value.
