Hahahahahahaha....

You should see what I 'poasted' over on the Fractal site about all this countdown nonsense

Quite honestly it's a good thing I have a sense of humour, as this otherwise seemingly insolent carrot dangling could be construed by many as an immature act of self pontification. If I were to judge a person's character on whether they actually "got off" on something like this - 1000's of seething blokes on line, waiting the beck and call of Master Cliff, completely driven by maniacal meanderings - I'd say fuck off to the owner and move my shit elsewhere.

Bigger people, with bigger money, with bigger problems, NO time to waste; and NO tolerance for bullshit.

Just saying, careful if this is just that... Things can backfire.

I already got reprimanded for this statement, LOL....

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH PEOPLE!!!!!!! RELAX!!!!!!!!!!!!
V.

You got reprimanded because you hit too close to home. You are lucky Cliff didn't tell you to sell your Axe.... his been known to do that to people who dare to say anything negative about the AxeFX.
Well, to clarify, I wasn't saying ANYTHING negative about the Axe - in fact - I have nothing negative whatsoever to say about the Axe, I love this piece of equipment, and it's been the best purchase I've made in years...

My jab was to the collective mentality of all these zealots who get their back up whenever someone questions the drone-bee mentality of their forum and forum behaviour collective. It's like I'm talking to a robot. And as mentioned above, it's not just me - I get more support and candid replies through PMs there than I do actual thread posts. That makes me think the place is filled with fearful forumites somehow SCARED to speak their mind. And lest we forget, most of these forumites paid a LOT of money for the gear that got them IN to this forum. So on that note, to the King who created, fuck you if you don't respect the very people who got you into your position of assumed power.

Respect is earned, not given.

Just my 2 cents,
V.

Why all the hostility towards me? I didn't even reply or comment on your posts. I'm puzzled.

No hostility towards you whatsoever Clifford - as mentioned before, I have the utmost respect for your product and the fact you like animals. And charities. It just seems some of your minions over there are a bit too committed to all things Axe and only Axe. It's just an approach and a mentality. You, Clifford, have created an incredible piece of equipment. It just so happens your followers seem to take things a little too seriously. You're a smart man, not a deity.

I'll admit it, I was the buzzing bee that stung some folks over there, but if for nothing more than to simply remind people, hey, I know it's only rock and roll but I like it

Namaste,
V.

V ,with all respect man your first post over there was pretty inflamatory IMO.
You cant walk into someone's home with dirty shoes and not expect some backlash.
First off, I am not a kool aid drinker yet .
Second .I 100% agree with you on some of the people there and their iron clad (Opinions)
but knowing the way that they are and knowing you are not going to change their opinions , your post could be perceived as somewhat of a dig.
You were not making a guess as to what it was that was coming , you were not asking a question .
I again agree Cliff is not god and I am sure he does not think that way either although he is proud of his work .
But truly what reaction did you expect?

I'm doing work in the bedroom and the wife has been sleeping downstairs all week so I haven't been able to play my amps and the last time i was on Ebay i was looking at used PODHD500 prices. Will Fractal give me something similiar to look at?

All completely and utterly appreciated and respected as a retort.

I have to clarify, my first post over on the Fractal Forum was actually technically based, as were the few dozen that followed - all questions, set forth in a humble "I'm new to this gig and please help, I'd really appreciate it". These were met with top down answers, greater than thou kinda responses. [This] last major post I did on the Countdown thread was because, after reading most of the post on the thread, it seemed to me there were a bunch of people getting not only curious and anticipative of the new(s) release, but also upset that this was such a long drawn out process. This latter perspective was what made me step back a bit and wonder "hmmmmmm, is this actually a normal thing to do to a following of devout, high paying clientele?? To leave them in wonderment?? To have them hypothesizing, and some, even worrying about the potential obsolescence of their current Fractal product??". And this is what made me think, hmmmmmmm, this could potentially piss a lot of people off. I qualified my statement with the fact I found it all quite humorous; as I have a sense of humour. But let's just say there are a host of musicians out there, sitting on the fence awaiting a purchase of their next big piece of gear, and then they're forced to be in a position of speculation and worry. Some of those people may very well say "forget it" and spend their funds on something that's concrete - solid - void of guess work. Because honestly, there are some people who would not tolerate the countdown wait in making their purchase decision. And it's these people I was wondering about.

Now, as for Clifford - and his products - and of what little I know abouto him and his character, I've spoken in only the highest regards with respect to all these attributes, whether assumed or realized, in this very forum as well as the Fractal site. I've followed the fact that Clifford has been an incredible person, borderline philanthropist, which really REALLY makes me like the guy AND his product. Furthermore, I've had the pleasure of speaking with Tom King, another incredible upstanding individual. I've also seen some information about Clifford's affinity towards animal rights and charities alike. ALL these things make me really really like the guy, and it's a given that I really really like his product!!!

I suppose my somewhat arrogant and inconsiderate post was more or less my opinion on the fact that it's somewhat exciting AND sad that there are 1000's of people blindly, devotedly, aimlessly watching this virtual clock tick down to D-Day for something none of us really have a clue about. But vis-a-vis to this, here's a company, an individual, who's garnered many 1000's of dollars for his product - and the people who paid their hard earned or easy earned money on such a product may not find a teasing countdown that palatable when they've got more pressing matters at bay. Namely, a potential purchase, a studio acquisition, a new direction in technology for recording, or the like.

I hope this clears a few things up. Most of everything I had put forth was with tongue-planted-firmly-in-cheek, perhaps the folks over there didn't realize this. But the overall militant and bounded constraints that SEEMINGLY exist over there that one OUGHT to abide by when posting kinda took the community, camaraderie feel out of the forum experience for me. It's no slight to Clifford, or his product, it was a debate as to the collective consciousness of the many who partake in the support forums existence and growth.

Respectfully,
Mo

You might be able to pick up a used standard pretty cheap in a week. :D

Thanks V ,
I did not see your posts in other threads and do not know if you were PMing questions and getting snide comments in return . thats makes sense
I wholeheartedly agree that every one has a right to their opinion but do see a lot of "Well you are entitled to your opinon ,but then your wrong attitude" over there .
FWIW I do believe a few of the major offenders that are treating people like idiots have been on occassion been told to cool their engines by Cliff as well.
Is it the most friendly open minded guitar product forum on the net ..umm no .
There are some good guys there though and it does sometimes make for intresting reading

Cheers!!!

I wouldn't trade 5 pod hd500s for an axe standard.

The only similarity is the 1/4 input.

Hardly hostile, just not shy about it.

Taken from the G66 website (Fractal's European distributor). Draw your own conclusions.

What product are they talking about?

Does this mean they are bringing out an AxeFx 2? AxeFX HD?

New one starting from scratch?

If this is what the countdown was for it's a bit of a wet blanket...

I personally addressed Clifford in a PM. I am certain he'll see my position, and with all due respect, the validity of my opinion. If at all... We're all entitled to one.

Respectfully,

Whatever it is, it will be more perfecter than its predecessor.

Maybe not a totally new product but redesigned interface .with knobs and USB like people have been asking .maybe just a facelift to the line

That would be rather impressive. I've never understood the business model that allowed that condescension from the "pseudo representatives" of the forum.

But what on earth was the point of the Angry Birds picture on the display?

It's the whole Scott Peterson thing, he does this with ANY forum he's associated with, it's like the "Splawn Police" if your not sucking the same dick he is, then you don't deserve to a part of his little group, it's insanity. I'm a member over there, but NEVER post, I have no desire to get involved in any discussions, because IF you do speak your mind or don't 150% agree with EVERYTHING they spout about a certain product, then you will be shunned or banned. It's a very Nazi like atmosphere.

I think the Axe is a GREAT product, but their "we're better than everyone" attitude, leaves ALOT to be desired, I've even heard from endorsers who say the product is great, but the company are a bunch of arrogant jerks.

People that are passionate about something are always trying to convince other there way is the best way ,
Have you ever observed "Apple Culture" .My wife works there and it is insane . They will stand out in the rain at 3 am when the store opens to launch Iphone at 9
I LMAO
