What's with the Fractal countdown?

I'm doing work in the bedroom and the wife has been sleeping downstairs all week so I haven't been able to play my amps and the last time i was on Ebay i was looking at used PODHD500 prices. Will Fractal give me something similiar to look at?

You might be able to pick up a used standard pretty cheap in a week.

My friend bought a standard on Ebay for $850 a month or so ago. When they release a new product you'll see the prices drop big time.

Your friend got a heck of deal and that's not the norm but do I think the prices will drop if that happens. It was impressive that they did hold their value better than some tube amps. Hell I've seen some tube amps hold value for shit and some hold them pretty well. Prices completely depend on supply and demand.

My view is I knew my AxeFX would lose it's value if some new unit came out from Fractal... I've paid $2000 for a computer to animate with and now it's a door stop.... it's the nature of technology and I have no problem with that. I've taken big hits on guitars and tube amps.... so not sure what the point of all this "the prices will drop" talk. If you buy gear to hold value then it better be old and or collectible or you're an idiot.

If my standard after tomorrow is worth only $500 after paying $1200 for it then that's fine I'll keep it and use it for a back up or just effects for an amp. Still it's a cool unit that has it's uses even if they come out with something new and better.

BTW I too hope it is a whole new updated unit with a new amp like front panel with BMT knobs and more realistic sims.

I'll bet Ultras settle in at $1600 or so.

From my perpective, I havent even scratched the surface of my ultra and its been a year, so I wont bother for quite some time. Which isnt like me...Thats for sure.
