Haven't tried that and since I don't have my TD anymore, I'm trying to find a new boost for my Friedman. I think I'm gonna add Koko Boost to my list.

it's like a fulltone fat boost with a bit of sparkle on top. gotta charge the caps before the "pop" goes away.

Im lovin the Marshall Guv nor (old one). It sounds awesome with humbucker equipped guitars.

The GV-2 is actually pretty good too.

Fulltone Dist pro. it has a more gain than an OCD. Used go for under $100. 2 internal trim pots to adjust the gain and mid sweep. I found it to be a great hot rod style Drive Pedal.

no problem. it works well as a clean boost too. just gotta mess with the guitar's volume control to balance it well. it can get a bit too "fat" otherwise. imho it works best with fender and marshall tone stacks

Had lost the amp racks in flight overseas, no where to be found, instead of using the backline and others amp rigs, I decided to plug into the mains (done many times before ) and monitor mix using weehbo morbid drive, and it killed it. Destroyed all the amps that were miked and fed into the mains. The monitor mix I did not like but that was the bad Eq'ing by the monitor sound engineer. I am now a believer in this box of doom. And never leave home without it. Needless to say the amp gear went to the wrong country, 2 weeks later the 1 diezel and 2 modded
Marshall's showed up.

I didn't have good results with the Plextortion, Kage. I bought it thinking I would use it for the same reason you describe but, unfortunately, I (personally) found it unusable. It was in and out in under 3 days. I suggest you look elsewhere. What about Sansamp? Or a Tech 21 Character pedal, like the 'British'......I know you're a Marshall guy.....

currently in the same boat as kage, I used to work in a guitar store for a bit over 3 years and tried quite a few pedals; nearly all the wampler stuff, carl martin plexitone, radial london bones, trimode, classic, badcat tube preamp pedal, suhr riot, nearly all solidgoldfx stuff, nearly all jam pedals,the list goes on.

The ones that stuck out: suhr riot w/an OD pedal together, CM plexitone. Oddly enough the pinnacle didn't do ANYTHING for me, mind you, I played each pedal through 3 or 4 different amps and it still just sounded like a pedal to me and plastic-y and non amp-like. Hoping you find something and please post clips!!

Right now I'm using the boss combo drive with a bb pre amp for a solo boost. I used to use the Plexitube, liked it a lot. The old Marshall Guv'nor pedal.

+1 for the BOSS ST-2 POWER STACK. Like having another amp channel.

Old-school is a Tube Screamer into an SD-1 into the amp. TS gain low and level high, SD-1 to taste.

I have to admit I am kind of gassing for something like these. The trimode/plexitube type pedals are very cool in that they have a rhythm, lead and fx loop for the lead so that your delay comes on automatically for your lead sound etc. so less tap dancing.

Colin, The amptweaker pedals have both an FX loop and a thing called a sidetrack loop which is really cool. Even cooler is that the FX loop has a switch to allow you to position it pre or post...

I did a bit of research on them and am pretty blown away by their offerings and to top it off, the owner/designer is James Brown, the guy who designed the 5150. He also happens to be a really cool, helpful guy. Im thinking that I can accomplish what I need with is TightRock and TightDrive Pedals. His up and coming Tight Fuzz looks cool as hell too!!!

The Amptweaker Pedals all have an FX loop and a thing called a sidetrack feature, all of which are very cool and do what you are speaking about. The cool thing about the FX loop is that you can choose whatever you put in it to be pre or post with a flick of a switch..

Yep, I much prefer using my full bogner rig, but there have been enough gigs lately where I'm using backline or just a combo that I'm prob going to end up making a little mini-board for going straight into a clean channel. We all know what a money pit that'll end up being Will check out the amptweaker ones too though, thanks Kage.
