All you rocker-dudes should check out the MI Effects Megalith Delta!
I just reviewed it and it sounds AMAZING. If you can't get your tone from this, then you won't find it anywhere!

I have to admit I am kind of gassing for something like these. The trimode/plexitube type pedals are very cool in that they have a rhythm, lead and fx loop for the lead so that your delay comes on automatically for your lead sound etc. so less tap dancing.

Colin, The amptweaker pedals have both an FX loop and a thing called a sidetrack loop which is really cool. Even cooler is that the FX loop has a switch to allow you to position it pre or post...

I did a bit of research on them and am pretty blown away by their offerings and to top it off, the owner/designer is James Brown, the guy who designed the 5150. He also happens to be a really cool, helpful guy. Im thinking that I can accomplish what I need with is TightRock and TightDrive Pedals. His up and coming Tight Fuzz looks cool as hell too!!!

I met James at the amp show in Nashville and he was such a great personable guy to talk to and IHMO his pedals sound really good.... in fact if I was going with a set up where I was using a clean amp with pedals it would be his pedals I'd use. His ideas behind his designs are just really great. He actually at one point plugged the pedals into a real simple Kustom tube power amp we designed with no TMB controls on the amp and the pedal still sounded great. I think you'll like his pedals. I know I did.

I don't have fancy big amps like most here. So I use a Homebrew Full Metal Jacket into my bedroom practice amps. Some of the simple demo's on youtube are mine.

Some of the best live recorded tone that I have ever gotten was with a Visual Sound Jeckyll & Hyde pedal infront of a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe. I have owned somer very nice high gain heads over the past 30 years, but that was one of the best tones I've gotten on stage. The beauty of that pedal is that it has two sides. The Distortion side and a TS808 side for light clipping or as a boost for solos. Check them out. They are not very expensive.

a good clean amp and a MI Effects Megalith Delta and you can cover a ton of ground!

ahhhhh!! Good man!!!!

Doing well brother!! Thanks for asking! How bout you?

Tried the XTS Precision Multidrive and Atomic OD. The perennial problem with distortion pedals losing your bottom end/bass response presented itself with the Atomic pedal (once engaged/gone could not retain it) otherwise, it would have kept my interest long enough to put it down on my purchase list. The Multidrive is amp responsive. Compared the Suhr Riot and ToneFreak Severe pedals side-by-side. The two are pretty closely related with the Severe being Q'd more towards the low-mids and a bit more versatile though I preferred the overall tone of the Riot just slightly more- sounded more Marshallesque. Butler TD is a good go-to pedal for this app just that it takes up more space. That is one I would recommend and own some. The CMATS Brownie I found not to be as amp-like as some others I have owned. It can really change the mid-range qualities of your tone a bit to give you more of that VH upper mid "brown" sound-like tone just not as realistic to me.

Really? The Atomic has not only a BASS control which provides plenty of bass, and a 3-way Mids switch which can be set to LOW. Not my findings at all

Raplh, can't complain, my side-business is starting to grow, we'll be moving by the end of November. Playing with 2 bands.
So, busy times ahead for sure!!

Put a Plexitone together with a 50 watter and away you go. I even ran a PT through a Vox Valvetronics and the amp went from stale directly to alive. Rolled off the guitar volume and it even cleaned up right like a good tube amp should. BTW My set-up is a Mesa DC-5 set clean with the Plexitone in front and an RC Booster after. (Yes after. That pedal acts more like an EQ stomp than an overdive trust me). Plenty of tone options and gain stages to kick around.

Buy a Pod HD 500 and an EHX Magnum 44 pedal. That's what I got for my "fly" board and it works great

#1: Soldano G.T.O. will turn ANY solidstate or tube amp into a high gain monster but it's a tank, a lil spendy and too boutiqee for some. Otherwise I'd run a Suhr Riot into any clean tube amp and be more than happy.

if you can find an old Zoom Tri-Metal and pair it with an MXR 10 band EQ it is fucking awesome.

Sorry to resurrect an old thread but do you still stand by this statement? Maybe u can post a vid?
I want to push my 2203 to meltdown with high gain from a musical pedal.

I also wanted to try a Suhr Reactive Load a Fryette Power Station 2 so I can use my FX and not have to install a fx loop
