For me its the Herbie Channel 3 ... There's a bunch of others I like but so far for high gain rhythm that one is a beast. Thick , juicy and tight. What do you guys like the most for high gain stuff ?
Yeah, the Brit 800 with the Super OD is the main thing I use.I like a bunch. Herbie 2+, XTC Red, VH4, BE, Uber, Boosted 800. Pretty much all the same amps I like in real life
I’m disappointed with the CCV amp model. They left out one gain pot. Which has a 3 way cap switch too. That extra pot adds so much tweak ability… makes me wonder WTF they were thinking? I mean, you can get so nitty gritty with deep dives into parameters, but to leave off an actually gain knob ??![]()
Same here, when I'm doing gainy stuff. The odd time I want a different flavor, but I mostly use that channel. I downloaded the Devin Townsend preset off that GR66 website (or something like that) and love it... it has 'heavy rhythm' and 'lead' on the seven scenes, which I modified slightly to match the pickups on my Majesty. Obviously, I go to a Trainwrecker, Fender, etc., if I'm doing something more low-key, but nothing in particular for that stuff. For me its the Herbie Channel 3 ... what are the general amp settings for devin rhythm channel? ( as if you wanted to recreate it on a real recto), is it orange channel?Same here, when I'm doing gainy stuff. No idea, lol. It is thick and chewy, if that tells you anything. I've been using it for some time and don't recall. Go here to download it:what are the general amp settings for devin rhythm channel? ( as if you wanted to recreate it on a real recto), is it orange channel?
Cool... you get to select what boost/drive you want in the amp's boost section? I presume so... I'll have to look into that. So far, I really prefer doing drive/boosts in front of the FM3... I'm talking about an actual pedal. I'm either using the Hagerman VALVE or the Night Owl Parabellum (both are tube drive and it seems to produce more realistic amp tones to the FM3).Big fan of the SLO here. I run the gain around noon and use the boost in the preamp section - usually the Shimmer or SD1 boosted @ 10dB. Sounds awesome.
I started using the boosts in the preamp section over a boost block. Learned that little tidbit from Leon Todd.
Yes, you can select from a smaller list of drives in the preamp section.Cool... you get to select what boost/drive you want in the amp's boost section? I presume so... I'll have to look into that.
