Came home after a pretty fun show last night and watched the Steven Hull Experience streamed live from Rosa's Lounge in Chicago. Killer blues group. Drummer was absolutely crushing it all night tho. This is how it's done....

Well, at least I know @Omnipotent1 will dig it.
LOVE some great drums!!! 😍😍😍 just wish I could play them  that man was goin OFF!!! Whole band was but that drum solo tho 🔥🔥🔥What an amazing drummer! That pearl snare freakin cracks! Whole set sounds amazing.. & whoever mic’d/mixed it definitely knows wtf their doing.. Damn.. My daughter recently gifted her uncle her electronic Roland TD-17 set for his birthday. He was GASin for one baaaad. A week later I was tellin one of my customers the story. (older 80year old lady who loves music), & she gifted her a 90s TAMA starclassic set 😳😂 crazy how the world works..

A Tama set? Dang, that's a pretty sweet gift!!!

Glad you appreciated the drumming. I made the old lady stay up late with me after the show and so I watched the livestream from Rosa's lounge. Been doing that every weekend night I ain't gigging. Next week I gotta gig all weekend so I'll have to watch 'em after the fact. Love that Chicago blues scene...getting pumped for September. The band in the video is the headliner on the same stage a couple acts after us.....hoping it all works out.

I saw these guys last night. They are on their farewell tour. You got a month left to see them live before they are done.

A guy can use all the octave and fuzz pedals they want, runs multi amp setup, but two people groups, live, just suck for me.
Royal Blood for eg. The records sound great but all live footage of them just doesn’t work for me.

I feel like you might like Kingston Mines. Check it out (venue) if you’re still in town.

I wasn't in town but have a gig or two with a friend of mine booked for September. I am familiar with Kingston Mines though. I've just been watching Rosa's on youtube, as they live stream all their weekend shows. Pretty sweet of them to do that. Apparently Rosa is still alive, and is 93 this year.

That was good stuff. I like how the guitarist was like... :dunno:
Glad you enjoyed it Boogie!

He's a good guitarist and real good singer though he doesn't really hot dog it on his guitar all that much. The bass and keys player are also really good. I really been enjoying being able to watch some of that Chicago scene from home when I ain't gigging. They've had Rico McFarlane and Omar Coleman in the last month or so. I enjoyed them as well. Rico is a badass on the guitar. Caught Indigenous on there a few weeks back but man....either Mato was sick or just phoning it in. It was uninspired compared to performances of his I saw live in the late 90's so I quit watching it.

I’d rather listen to a great drummer than a guitarist
There is something primal about an amazing rhythm that connects deeply, but I love anyone highly skilled on a given instrument.

One thing to be a Pocket play, but that dude turned up the (lack of better terms) fills.

Even see chicks try to dance to that?
Looks like a Zombie invasion.

It seemed to me like his gospel background was evident. Plenty of women dance to the praise break style, lol. Dude probably spent most of his youth in church with a pair of drumsticks in his hands.

That’s going to be dope! I know you’ve been hyped to hit Chicago 🤙🏽 If time is on my side the fam & I might catch the Amtrak / pop in to see you guys
😃👍🏽 just send me the dates. That’s awesome you guys & the Steven hull experience are going to be at the same venue!!! Bet that’s exciting, I’ll have to start checking out the Rosa’s livestream.

Glad you enjoyed it Boogie!

Rico’s a beast!!! Love listening to him. Here’s him & Toronzo jamming at Rosa’s 😛 Not the greatest recording but still dope. 🤙🏽
