???? I assume some sort of Marshall (stock or modded). I'm looking for an amp to blend with my Mesas and Engl.

I was thinking of the XTC too, but the 101B is a little more focused in the lower-middle mids range I think... Maybe the Classic or 20th would fit the bill?Erock":2znmtg3x said:Bogner XTC was the first thing that popped into my head if you want a lot of upper mid that doesn't get harsh. That's one of the coolest amps I've ever heard blended with other tight high gainers in a live setting.
yeah, you might be right man. I just remember the 101B having a kind of pronounced midrange that really stood out, yet never got harsh. I think the VH4 would fit the bill too, has that same vibe with a pronounced upper mid that would take work to actually get harsh. Both those amps have an enourmous lowend thump too, I'm just remembering how well the XTC in particular seemed to blend with other high gainers.glassjaw7":1uogtk52 said:I was thinking of the XTC too, but the 101B is a little more focused in the lower-middle mids range I think...
